COMMUNITY SERVICE WEEK: OCTOBER 2-6, 2017Pinnacle held its second annual Corporate Team Community Service Week in October

2017 where team members from each of the company’s 15 corporate and regional offices volunteered at least one day during a dedicated work week at local food banks,

alliances or other ministries within their own communities. Pinnacle’s active volunteer program encourages all team members to support

various non-profits at times that are convenient to their professional and personal schedules. Corporate Team Community Service Week put

a synchronized focus on these efforts by allowing corporate employees to assist an organization of their choosing

for an entire work day.

CHILDREN’S HUNGER FUNDPinnacle is an avid supporter of Children’s Hunger Fund, which provides nourishing food for hungry kids across America and around the world. The organization distributes Food Paks and other aid through local churches so that they may deliver hope to suffering children and families in their communities.

In October, Pinnacle’s Dallas office sent 56 volunteers and spent a total of 448 hours packing around 2,400 bags of beans and several large boxes of dried fruit. The team also sorted through toys and large rolls of wrapping paper for an upcoming Christmas event. Team members returned in November to help wrap the toys.

WESTSIDE BABYWestside Baby was founded in 2001 by a new mom who recognized the stresses of caring for an infant. This much-needed Seattle-based resource collects, inspects and distributes free diapers, clothing, cribs and safety gear for babies and children.

More than 114 local social service agencies, including shelters and food banks, rely on WestSide Baby for critical necessities for low income families. Since opening, the non-profit has provided more that $19 million worth of free diapers, clothing and gear to more than 233,000 infants and children whose families face challenges meeting those basic needs.

Pinnacle volunteered about 93 hours in October filling orders for clothing, books, supplies, equipment, toiletries, toys, and most importantly diapers. The company also partnered with the organization around the holidays to support the “Joy Drive,” a local event benefitting underprivileged babies and children in King County and surrounding areas. Our donations of 4,117 diapers, 120 winter coats and 275 pairs of pajamas impacted approximately 200 families.

ATLANTA COMMUNITY FOOD BANKEvery year, the Atlanta Community Food Bank works with more than 600 nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers – to distribute over 60 million meals for more than 755,000 people in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

Pinnacle visited the Atlanta Community Food Bank in October to help pack boxes of food for senior citizens in the Metro Atlanta area. Everyone took a different role that varied from box building, packing, weighing, and shipping. During our time at the organization, we helped pack 18,900 pounds of food that would provide 15,750 meals to seniors in 29 Georgia counties.

Pinnacle chose to volunteer at the Atlanta Community Food Bank for Corporate Community Service Week as it coincided with the Atlanta Apartment Association’s Food Drive. In 2017, the Atlanta regional office and 30 area properties donated 3,078 food items and $4,484. Our team put in a great deal of effort to ensure we did our part to help provide for the people in our community with food insecurities.
