concrete shape by starting Punjab institute of management and technology in 1997.In today's

In PIMT, emphasis is given not only

various seminars. Thus, our students
get the chance to bestow themselves
with knowledge about industry
needs and latest technical updates.
PIMT organized a seminar on
‘contemporary issues in
management’ for the students of
MBA, BA, B.Com (Prof), M.com
(Prof.).
In this seminar, Dr.Manisha Gupta
share her views with the students on
the various concepts and issues in
securitization.
In this seminar, students shared their
views on the topics such as Should
agriculture subsidies be stopped?,
problem of working women in
India, corporate social
responsibility etc.
Teachers Day
Teacher’s day is celebrated on September 5th of
every year which is also the birthday of Dr.
Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, one of our former
Presidents .Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was an
ideal teacher. It was decided to celebrate his
birthday as Teachers' Day to honor that noble
profession. It is a unique honor awarded to the
teaching profession in our country. Its main aim is
to mobilize support for the teachers. PIMT also
celebrates this occasion every year. Recently this
precious occasion celebrated on 4SEP, 2015 in
Lions Bhawan, Mandi Gobindgarh. The teachers
were honored with gifts and captivating messages
to convey their love and gratitude, making the event
special and memorable. It was followed with fun
filled games and refreshments for all the staff
members. The highlight of the day was our
teachers’ performance on stage that totally
engrossed everyone present there. They made us
wonder-struck by their thought provoking song.
FRESHERS Party At PIMT
The fresher’s bash “Mehfil-e-Rubaroo” was thrown
by the senior students of Management and IT
Department for their juniors. The main purpose of
it was to welcome new-comers in a friendly
atmosphere and to encourage their creative
impulses to boost their confidence. Music filled the
air as students danced on the groovy tunes played
by the DJ.
It was a vibrant occasion as all freshers were
dressed in their best attire. One by one they paraded
on the ramp and best of all were honored by the
Director with bouquet and gifts. In Management
department Mr. Hilal Ahmed Bhat (MBA -1) and
Miss. Harinder Kaur (BBA-1) became Mr. & Ms.
Fresher’15(MGT). In IT department Mr. Amir
(MCA-1) and Miss Karishma (BSC ATHM-1)
became Mr. & Ms. Fresher’15 (IT). Mr.
personality of the party became Mr. Rishab
(BCom-1) and Miss gorgeous became Miss Kajal
(BCA-1).
Induction programme for fresher students in
PIMT
With increasingly large class sizes, it may not be
possible for a lecturer to tailor material to a diverse
audience, where each individual has their own prior
experiences of learning and their own assumptions
about what it means to be a student in higher
education. Thus, Induction programme meets the
interaction needs that exists among the students. Pimt
organized induction programmes to create an
environment where students are encouraged to
disclose their needs and seek appropriate support.
Aaftaab -2014 Extravaganza Rocked
PIMT Aaftaab 2015, a cultural extravaganza was
organized by Punjab Institute of Management and
Technology on 3 October 2015. Many Students from
around various reputed professional and degree
colleges & schools from northern region participated
in the day-long show, which include many onstage and
offstage competitive performances like rangoli, quiz,
Face Painting, Diya Decoration, Hair Styling, debate,
group dance, fashion-show, solo song, solo dance etc.
A bouquet of academic, creative and cultural
programme have been included in the festival. This
Annual Inter School & College event brought with it
new surprises, new challenges, new winners and lots
of fun and frolic. The event received tremendous
response from all the multifaceted talented
participants. To give a token of appreciation, the
winners of various events were awarded with medals.
College Trip to Dharamshala and Mcleod ganj
PIMT organized College Trip to Dharamshala and
Mcleod ganj where Students enjoyed a lot. They also
visited Bhagsu Waterfall, Bhagsunath Temple,
Kalachakra Temple, Tibetan Museumetc. Students
enjoyed the beauty of hills .
Teej and Rakhi celebration in PIMT
In this celebration different competitions like Heena
(Mehandi Competition) , Nail Art, Turban Tying, best
sweet dish, rakhi making, best dress were organized
.Students participated in different events with great
enthusiasm. In the event of Heena (Mehandi
Competition) Priyanka & Kajal ( BCA V) got first and
Veeni (B.Com-1st) got second prize. In Nail Art
Mukti(BCA-1) got first and Amandeep (B.Com-1) got
second prize. In Turban Tying Baljinder Singh(BBA-
1)got first and Ranjodh Singh(BBA-1) and Harwinder
Singh( MCA 3rd)got second prize. In best sweet dish
Sandeep Kaur(B.Com-1) stood first and Divya ( BBA
3)and Ajay (BBA-1st) stood second .In rakhi making
Karishma Sharma (B.Sc (ATHM)) got first and
Shalini Sharma(B.Com-3rd) got second prize. In best
dress Minakshi(MBA-1) got first and Abhisahek
(B.Com -3rd) got second prize. The students were very
ecstatic after getting prizes in various competitions.
On this occasion, all the girls were dressed in
traditional Indian wear. Music and dance completed
the celebrations for the inmates.
A Seminar on drug abuse in PIMT
A seminar on drug abuse was organized on
20.10.2015 in Lions Club, Mandi Gobindgarh for the
students of PIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh and GPS,
Mandi GobindGarh. Mr Vineet Joshi ( Chairman ,
Joshi Foundation) was the speaker of this seminar.
Mr Manjeet Singh Rai ( Chairman, Punjab Infotech)
, Mr Jatinder Singh Khera ( SSP FatehGarh Sahib) ,
Mr Tajinder Singh ( Muncipal Council, MGG) , Ms
Shalini Khullar( officiating Principal, GPS MGG)
and Dr Manisha Gupta ( Director PIMT, MGG) were
also present in the seminar. Mr Vineet Joshi (
Chairman , Joshi Foundation) emphasised that
addiction is a social problem and every member of
the community is directly or indirectly affected by it.
He said that Youth being the biggest strength of the
nation should abstain and also combat this social evil
of addiction and substance abuse in the society
Fun and Entertainment in association with
Canteeni mandeer from channel MH1 at PIMT
Punjab Institute of Management and Technology
,Mandi Gobindgarh organizedFun and
Entertainmentin a very chimerical way in association
with channel MH1.A team from MH1 channel was
invited to enthrall the audience.Mr Ravneet and his
team from Canteeni Mandeer MH1entertained the
students .Various fun games like tongue twister
,Open talent Competition , boliyian, melodious
songs of today and past era, Comedy performances,
and other cultural performances of the students made
the atmosphere energetic and enthusiastic.students of
PIMT participated in the various events with great
enthusiasm. There was also a session of teachers
interaction with the team of Canteeni Mandeer where
teachers presented their different views of life. Dr.
Manisha Gupta (Director PIMT) said that these types
of extra curricular activities are very important in the
overall development of the students andPIMT
always encourages students to participate in such
type of curricular & Co-curricular activities.
Workshop on Human values and professional
ethics
A workshop on human values and professional ethics
was organized in PIMT, Mandi Gobindgarh which
was sponsored by PTU Jalandhar. Directors,
Professors and students of different colleges and
institutes participated in this workshop. The main
emphasis of this workshop was on human peace and
prosperity. The delegates of PTU who made
speeches in this workshop emphasized on the
importance of human relationships in overall
harmony of humanity and society.
World Tourism Day in PIMT
Punjab Institute of Management and Technology,
Mandi Gobindgarh celebrated world tourism day on
28th sep 2015 in PIMT campus. September 27 every
year is celebrated as World Tourism Day - WTD, a
special day set by the United Nations World Tourism
Organization - UNWTO to remind the general
population on the importance of the tourism industry,
not only as the globe's major economic activity and
source of employment, but also as a means to achieve
cultural understanding and as a significant
contributor towards the goals of alleviating poverty
and improving livelihoods. Sh. Sanjay Bhatia
(Chairman, PIMT, and MGG) inaugurated the
function. The purpose of this day is to raise
awareness on the role of tourism within the
international community and to demonstrate how it
affects social, cultural, political and economic values
worldwide. The students prepared various posters
and presented their views on the theme of ‘one
billion tourists, one billion opportunities’ on world
tourism day celebrations...
International Conference on Accounting,
Auditing and Governance in the SAARC Region
and New Paradigms in International Business
held at PIMT
Punjab institute of management and technology,

conference on Accounting, Auditing and
Governance in the SAARC Region and New
Paradigms in International Business on 19th
December 2015 in association with Emerald Journal
special issue on SAARC where researchers ,
expertise and policy makers from academic and
industry addressed issues of common interest and
concern for the Global business strategies for
sustaining business growth in SAARC countries
Mr Manoj Kaushik (IPS) was the chief guest of
inaugural session and Guest of honor for inaugural
session was Dr S K Chadha Chairman, UBS, PU, and
Chandigarh. Mr Vimal Vinod Bansal (President
GESWT, MGG) was the chief guest of Valedictory
session and Guest of honor for Valedictory session
was Dr B S Bhatia (Dean Research, SGGSWU, FGS)
and Dr Mohan veer Singh (Asset Director, Technical
education, Chandigarh). Dr. G.S Sherrill from
Massey University, New Zealand and Dr. S.K.
Singla, Director, GNAIMT, Phagwarawere the
Keynote Speakers of this conference. Mr Sanjay
Bhatia (Chairman PIMT, MGG), Mr Suresh Goyal
(Joint Treasurer GESWT, MGG) Mr Swaranjeet
Singh Bagli (Trust member), Mr Nitin Saggar (Trust
member) were also present in this conference.In
Panel Discussion, Dr. Anil Mittal, Dr. B.S Bodla, Dr.
Amandeep Marwaha, Dr. S.K. Singla and Dr G.S.
Batra, Dr A.K. Vashisht Participated actively and
each of them gave their views and ideas on global
business and recent issues in SAARC countries.
Technical Session 1 was chaired by Dr. J.S.Pasricha
and Dr. Anil Mittal . technical session II was chaired
by Dr. B.S Bodla and Dr. Amandeep Marwaha.

In the end of this session, Dr. Manisha Gupta
(Director, PIMT) thanked all the dignitaries and
congratulated the coordinators of the conference
Mr. Rajiv Jindal ,Dr Poonam Mehta, Ms Rajni
Arora and PIMT family for organizing the
conference successfully.
Independence –day celebration
Punjab Institute of Management and Technology,
Mandi Gobindgarh organized a various competitions
like Essay writing, Declamation, Poetry recitation
and poster making on 14 August 2015 . Students
took a part in the competition with great enthusiasm
.
Children Day Celebration
PIMT celebrated Children’s Day with great fervour
on 14th November 2015 in PIMT campus . The
campus was decorated with balloons of all hues and
colours. The students presented a vibrant cultural
programme, singing English and Hindi songs.
Dr. Manisha Gupta(director PIMT) and faculty and
the staff members also joined in the celebrations. It
was a nostalgic occasion for the students. From the
glint in the eyes of the many students dressed in
colourful outfits, dancing and singing non-stop, one
could tell that it was an occasion which would stay
in their minds for a long time to come.
It was a fun-filled day for students of PIMT. The
programme began with tributes to Chacha Nehru.
Various activities and events were organized and
performed by students. The day had the theme of
love. Programmes included informative play,
enactment and songs. The programme ended with
vote of thanks by Dr. Manisha Gupta (director
PIMT).
Career Counselling Sessions conducted by PIMT
To create the awareness among the students of govt.
schools and colleges, various career counselling
sessions, Vedic math sessions, workshops on
personality development, guest lecture in the nearby
school and colleges were conducted by the PIMT
faculty. Also students of various school visited in the
PIMT Campus for career awareness programmes.
NEWLY INTRODUCED COURSES IN PIMT
1. B.Sc. (Agriculture): PIMT Introduced B.Sc. (Agriculture) in August 2015. The
program is 4 years of study after 10+2. The curriculum vary, from learning about
soil science to agricultural meteorology, and there is a balance between theory and
practical.
Several educational visits were organized by PIMT for the students of agriculture
in the various places to bare them to the practical work culture and environment like
PAU Kisan Mela 2015, Agrometereology observatory visit to PAU.
PIMT also conducted various practical session for the practical exposure of
agriculture students.
2. B.Sc. (ATHM): PIMT also Introduced B.Sc. (ATHM) in August 2015. Airlines,
Tourism and Hospitality Management are together the brightest segment of
hospitality that provides jobs to millions of people worldwide. It is a large and a
growing industry and it facilitates International travel, trade, and globalization. Due
to increasing prosperity in the Asia-Pacific, Airlines Tourism is recording highest
growth rate in the region. India, too, is getting a major share in this growing sector.
Airlines Tourism also contributes to the Gross Domestic Product of the country by
earning valuable foreign exchange.
Numerous educational visits were organized by PIMT for ATHM students for
enhancing their overall development like visit to Mc Donald’s for customer
handling session, Park plaza hotel visit for awareness of hotel areas and
departments.
PIMT also organizes grooming workshop by VLCC, LDH to make student aware
about professional grooming.
World tourism day was also celebrated and various competitions were held.
Students took a part in the competitions with great enthusiasm and Yeswinder Kaur
of B.SC (ATHM) stood first position in the declamation contest.
Social & welfare Activities by GESWT & PIMT
BLOOD DONATION CAMP ORGANIZED BY LIONS CLUB & PIMT
There's no substitute for blood donation and giving blood regularly saves lives. A Blood
donation camp was organized by Lions Club Supreme, Mandi Gobindgarh in association with
Punjab Institute of Management and Technology, Mandi Gobindgarh and Gobindgarh Public
College, Alour in PIMT campus... Blood donation camp was inaugurated by Sh Vimal Vinod
Bansal (President Gobindgarh Educational and Social Welfare Trust , MGG), Sh Pyara Singh
Kalsi ( Vice President, Gobindgarh Educational and Social Welfare Trust , MGG ) Sh.
Sanjay Kumar Bhatia (Chairman PIMT), Sh Anil Kumar Agrawal (Secretary Gobindgarh
Educational and Social Welfare Trust ) . At this occasion, Sh Swaranjit Singh Bagli ( Trust
Member), Sh Nitin Saggar ( Trust Member), Director PIMT Dr. Manisha Gupta,
Principal GPC Dr. Neena Seth Pajni were also present .At this occasion President of
Gobindgarh Education and Social welfare Trust Sh Vimal Vinod Bansal said
that donating blood is a great service to society. One single donation can be split into three
separate parts, helping save or improve the lives of patients. If you donate blood, you can
help in saving lives of many patients. This was proved by the members and volunteers of
PIMT and GPC who exhibited their active participation. After the blood donation refreshment
was given to the donators. Dr Manisha Gupta applauded the management skills of students
and faculty for organizing this Blood Donation Camp in a well-planned manner.
TRAINING & PLACEMENT NEWS
Training & Placement Cell has wide network and has developed excellent liaison and rapport
with the industry of this region. The placement through campus is assured to every student
undergoing post graduate course in this institute. The students are specifically groomed to

INDUSTRIAL VISITS
Frequent industrial visits are organized for the students in the various industries to expose

is that Management and IT students should be equipped with the requirements of both
theoretical and practical aspects to compete the competitive world and to enhance their
