there are pillars of

The pillars of Islam are basic rules that

Every Muslim must follow…

If we do not follow the pillars of Islam,

it could cause us to be unsuccessful

Muslims,

or in some cases, to not be Muslims at all.

HADITH ABOUT PILLARS OF ISLAM

Narrated Ibn 'Umar (R.A):

Allah's Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص said:

“Islam is based on (the following) Five Pillars (principles):

1. To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah

and Muhammad is Allah's Messenger ملسو هيلع هللا ىلص

2. To offer the (compulsory congregational) prayers dutifully and perfectly.

3. To pay Zakat (i.e. obligatory charity) .

4. To perform Hajj. (i.e. Pilgrimage to Mecca)

5. To observe fast during the month of Ramadan.”

SAHIH BUKHARI : Volume 1, Book 2, Number 7

KALMA-E-SHAHADAT

"Ashhadu Alla Ilaha Illa Allah

Wa Ashhadu Anna

Muhammad Rasulu Allah"

"I bear witness that there is no deity other than Allah (Subhanahu wa ta'ala)

and that Muhammad (SALLA ALLAH ALAIHI WA SALLAM) is his servant and

Messenger."

In the lights of Holy Quran:

“But those who reject Faith and belie our Signs (revelations),- they shall be companions of Hell-

fire.”

(The Holy Quran, Al-Maeda, 5:86)

“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last

of the prophets; and Allah is cognizant of all things.”

(The Holy Quran, Al-Ahzab, 33:40)

KALMA-E-SHAHADAT

In the Lights Of Holy Quran:

“And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and

obedience].”

“And seek help through patience and prayer, and indeed, it is difficult except for the

humbly submissive [to Allah ]”

PRAYER (SALAT)

Surat Al-Baqarah

(2:43)

Surat Al-Baqarah

(2:45)

In the lights of Hadith:

Once a man asked the Prophet about the most virtuous deed.

“The Prophet stated that the most virtuous deed is the Prayer.

The man asked again and again and for the first three times, the Prophet answered,

“The prayer,” then on the fourth occasion he stated, “Jihad in the way of God.”

PRAYER (SALAT)

This is from a hadith recorded by Ahmad and ibn Hibban.

Benefits Of Prayer On Individual:

The Holy Prophet Said,

“If a person had a stream outside his door and he bathed in it five times a day, do you think he

would have any filth left on him?”

The people said,

“No filth would remain on him whatsoever.”

The Prophet then said,

“That is like the five daily prayers: God wipes away the sins by them.”

(Saheeh Al-Bukhari, Saheeh Muslim)

PRAYER (SALAT)

FASTING (SAUM)

Fasting in the lights of Holy Quran:

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those

before you that you may become righteous –

(Surat Al-Baqarah 2:183)

Fasting in the lights of Hadith:

Narrated by Sahl (R.A)

The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who

observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them

will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They

will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will

be closed and nobody will enter through it."

FASTING (SAUM)

SAHIH BUKHARI: Volume 3, Book 31, Number 120

Benefits of Fasting In The Lights Of Hadiths:

Abu Hurayrah, May Allah be pleased with him, narrated that Allah’s Apostle, Salla Allahu Alayhi

Wasallam, said, what translated means,

“Allah said, ‘All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him:

• The good deeds will be multiplied ten times to seven hundred time, except fasting, which is for Me

and I will reward for it accordingly.

• He abandons his (sexual) desire, food and drink for Me.’

• Verily, there are two joyous and pleasurable moments for the fasting person: one at the time of

breaking his fast, and the other is when he will meet his Lord (in the Hereafter).

• Verily, the unpleasant odor emanating from the mouth of the fasting person is better in the sight of

Allah than the scent of musk.”

ZAKAT

Zakat in the lights of Holy Quran:

“Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided

for them”

(Surat Al-Baqarah

2:3)

ZAKAT

Zakat in the lights of Hadith:

Abu Hurairah (R.A) narrated :

That the Prophet said:

"When you pay the Zakat you have fulfilled what is required of you."

(Jami` at-Tirmidhi 618, Book 7, Hadith

ZAKAT

Those who are eligible to receive zakat are mentioned in the Holy Qur'an.

“Zakah expenditures are only for:

• The poor and

• For the needy and

• For those employed to collect [zakah] and

• For bringing hearts together [for Islam] and

• For freeing captives [or slaves] and

• For those in debt and

• For the cause of Allah and

• For the [stranded] traveler

- An obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise.”(Surat At-Tawbah 9:60)

RECEPTORS OF ZAKAT

ZAKAT

Benefits of Zakat:

1. Zakat keeps the money flow inside society in balance and constant. The sahib-e nisab pay zakat

which is gotten by poor people hence the money inflow remains same and constant.

2. It eradicates begging.

3. Unemployment erases because progressive economy always needs more and more workers.

4. A progressive economy makes a strong state.

HAJJ

Introduction:

"And when Ibrahim

and Ismail Built the

House and

dedicated it..."

2:127

HAJJ

Muslims should perform Hajj, if they can afford it, the quote

from the Quran says,

"If you are prevented, send such offerings as you can afford…“

(2:196)

HAJJ

Middle:

Being present at Arafat is the most important part of the

pilgrimage without it the Hajj is not complete,

“When at Arafat we know they should concentrate on

Allah”. (2:197)

HAJJ

Hajj includes Eid Ul Adha and the sacrifice; people in the Hajj have to sacrifice

animals, when the ritual is nearly at its end. The quote in the Quaran says,

“And camels we have made a part of Allah’s rites. They are of much use to you.

Pronounce over them the name of Allah as they line up: and when they have fallen

down their sides, eat their flesh and feed with it with the poor and the beggar.”
