Hiromi Tango with works from ‘FLUORESCENCE,’ 2015. COURTESY THE ARTIST AND SULLIVAN+STRUMPF, SYDNEY

Pictures at an Exhibition presents images of one notable show every weekday.

Today’s show: “Hiromi Tango: FLUORESCENCE” is on view at Sullivan+Strumpf in Sydney until Saturday, August 22. The exhibition presents new works by the artist that are an attempt to connect with her estranged father by exploring the way in which bright colours and lights affect brain function. With her father’s declining health and diagnosis of Dementia, Tango has created a body of mixed-media sculptures that aim to bring her father a sense of comfort and joy. (Tango also produced a video to accompany the exhibition.)
