Breakfast Room Chandelier

This Chandelier is an example of both types of symmetry. It has numerous lines of symmetry and 45,90,135, 180, 225, 270, 315, and 360 degree rotational symmetry.

Dining Room Chandelier

This chandelier is an example of both rotational and reflectional symmetry. If split through one of the top lamps, it would look the same on both sides. The chandelier also has 120 and 240 rotational symmetry.

This vase has reflectional symmetry. If cut down the middle of the Fleur de Lis, it would look the same on both sides

This is an example of reflectional symmetry. If cut through his hands, this man is bisymmetrical

Belgian TapestryThis tapestry

is an example of both types of symmetry. This has two lines of symmetry, one runs up through the middle and the other runs sideways through the middle.

It also has 180 degree rotational symmetry and shows how the Belgians incorporated symmetry into their art.

A Jewelry BoxThis box has many lines of symmetry and rotational symmetry. It has horizontal, vertical, and horizontal line of symmetry and it has 180 degree rotational symmetry.

A CrossWithout counting

the hook, this piece of jewelry has diagonal, vertical, and horizontal lines of symmetry and 90, 180, and 270 rotational symmetry. Counting the hook, if it strait it is bisymmetrical.

Ecuadorian Turtle Design

This turtle has reflectional symmetry. If cut down the middle both sides would look the same. This also shows how the Ecuadorians incorporate symmetry into their artwork

This Czech egg has reflectional symmetry and rotational symmetry if spun around. Its reflectional symmetry is down the dotted line and it has 90, 180 and 270 degree rotational symmetry. It also shows how the Czechs added symmetry to their art.

English BowlThis bowl has

diagonal, vertical, and horizontal symmetry and rotational symmetry. It has 90, 180, and 270 degree rotational symmetry. It also shows how the English used symmetry in their ceramics.

Column

This column has numerous lines of symmetry and has rotational symmetry if rotated on its axis. It has 90, 180, and 270 degree rotational symmetry. This is of Roman design and shows how they incorporated symmetry into their architecture.

Indonesian Mask

This mask has reflectional symmetry. If split down the nose it would be the same on both sides. This shows how cultures of Southeastern Asia incorporate symmetry into their art.

Washington Monument

This is an example of reflectional symmetry and rotational symmetry. It has 90,180, and 270 degree rotational symmetry and shows how modern architects incorporate symmetry into their work.
