Cost: $16.00 (for bus)

Dear Parents and Students,
The PHS environmental science classes, AP and regular, have the opportunity to study Ecology using the Biodiversity at the Shedd Aquarium. Students will be exploring
concepts of Ocean Acidification- coral gardening, Plastic Pollution - washed ashore, Climate Change, & Evolution by identifying adaptations that ensure animal survival in
their specific aquatic habitats. Students will also see the Aquatic Show, at no cost.
Students will need to bring a brown bag lunch and a drink (preferably a
refillable water bottle) or they may purchase a lunch (~ $12.00) in the Shedd Cafe. Prepare for the weather in case we have to wait outside for entry. We ask that all
participants represent Plainfield High School in a positive manner throughout the day. For the full day’s schedule, please see the agenda on the back.
Students need to meet in the freshmen cafe at 7:05 am for attendance, and like
normal, late students will have to go to the raptor desk. We will depart by 7:20 am for Shedd and should arrive there by 8:30 am. We will return by 2:00 pm for regular
school dismissal. We are asking for $16.00 to cover the cost of the bus. Please sign the permission slip to allow your student to attend and return it to us with the fee (checks
may be made out to PHS).
Thank you,
Mr. Joe Kamper &
Mrs. Debbie Pohlmann
