Photo-shoot

Here I have chosen six images for the contents page of my magazine. I think that these six images will be most effective from the images I took at my photo-shoot.

By taking six different yet similar images using the same model, I was then able to choose from a variety of images.

The images range from different types of camera angles and shots such as a long shotand medium close up.

Looking at the mise en scene of these images both models are wearing boyfriend jeans, a black top, a leather jacket and Nike Air Max trainers.

They are also featured either sitting or lying on a Harley Davidson motorbike. I have decided for my models to wear these types of clothing and holding two apple products as I want her to represent a modern day social group in which my target

audience who are teenage males and females can relate to. As my model is wearing Nike Air Max trainers, they are a type of trainers which my target audience teenage males and females in the 21st century wear and are very

popular. The location in which I have captured these images are outside, I have chosen the

location to be outside as teenagers are out the majority of their free time and teenagers are recognized never to be at home so again my target audience will be able

to relate to the images.

This is a long shot of the model. The reader is able to see the model’s body position and her surrounding background. They are able to see that she is lying back on the Harley Davidson motorbike.

The model is lying back on the bike with her feet hanging off the bike slightly with her hands holding an iPhone and she is wearing headphones. This therefore conveys my target audience since this is how the younger generation relax whilst on

their phones or electronic device no matter where they are. The reader cant really see the model’s facial expressions and sheis looking at her phone and the image has been taken of the model so you can just see the side of the model.

As readers can barely see the model’s facial expressions on that account, readers aren't able to easily identify with the model and as a result this makes readers not feel equal with the model, a feeling that is usual for readers as she is an idol to the

readers, something they cannot relate to in real life so this image may not interest them. The lighting of this image is natural lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can relate to this as teenagers

are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’. However I have decided not to use this image for my contents page as the readers are unable to see the model clearly so may

not be able to identify the model straight away so turn away to look at another competing music magazine.

This is a long shot of the model. The reader is able to see the model’s body position, facial expression and her surrounding background. They are able to see that she is leant up against a white wall whilst looking back directly into the camera.

The reader can see that the model’s two hands are pressed up against the white wall and her legs are standing shoulder width apart. As the model is looking back over her should directly into the camera the readers are able to see that her lips are

posed. Focusing on this image readers may feel a slight connection with this image as the model (their idol) is looking back into the camera and they feel like that she is looking back at them and that she is always thinking of them thanking them for all the

support her fans give her. The lighting of this image is natural lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can relate to this as teenagers

are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’. However I have decided not to use this image for my contents page as the model’s eyes are slightly closed as she has moved

slightly whilst the image is being taken so I feel that this image wont be effective enough for my contents page.

This is a long shot of the model. The reader is able to see the model’s body position, facial expression and her surrounding background. They are able to see that she is leant up against the Harley Davidson motor

looking to the side of her directly into the camera. The reader can see that the model’s two hands are holding her headphones and she is looking directly to the

side of her into the camera. The readers will be able to relate to this as they may feel as if the model (their idol) is asking them to come on a journey with her and she is waiting for them as her fans.

The lighting of this image is natural lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can again relate to this as teenagers are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’.

However I have decided to use this image for my contents page as the model’s is looking directly into the camera so it will work well. As well as this the reader are able to see the model clearly and her surroundings

making them feel they have a connection with the model.

This is a medium close up shot of the two models. The reader is able to see the model’s body position and facial expression.

The reader can see that the two model’s are looking at the IPhone whilst both wearing headphones. The readers will be able to relate to this as they may feel as if they are the models as well due to the fact they all

listen to music through headphones and always tell their friends about whatever they found out on their phones. The reader’s may feel they have a similar sort of lifestyle as the two models.

The lighting of this image is natural lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can again relate to this as teenagers are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’.

However I have decided not to use this image for my contents page as the two models are not looking directly into the camera so readers may not feel as interested in the image. As well as this the image has a slight blur

to it.

This is a medium close up shot of the model. The reader is able to see the model’s body position, facial expression and her surrounding background. They are able to see that she is looking directly into the

camera with one hand in her pocket and the other hand place on the side of her body. The model’s lips are slightly posed and she has a stern look on her face. The lighting of this image is natural

lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can again relate to this as teenagers are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’.

However I have decided to use this image for my contents page as a secondary image due to the fact the model’s is looking directly into the camera so it will work well. As well as this the reader are able to see the

model clearly and her surroundings making them feel they have a connection with the model. I have decided when using this image that I was crop all of the background so the reader will be able to see the model more

clearly therefore they will be able to relate to the model more.

This is a long shot of the two models. The reader is able to see the model’s body position, facial expression and their surrounding background. They are able to see that one model is leant up against the Harley

Davidson motor looking up at the model who is standing behind the bike. The reader can see the two models and their relationship as the model standing behind the bike has a slight

smile on her face whilst the other model is lying against the bike. Reader’s may feel a connection to this image as they may relate this image to themselves and a friend.

The lighting of this image is natural lighting as this image was taken at night time. The readers can again relate to this as teenagers are also known to be out all night and in all day ‘sleep all day party all night’.

However I have decided not to use this image for my contents page as the main model who I want to feature in my magazine is not really the centre of focus of the image so I feel that this image will not be effective

enough and wont be able to justify in comparison to the rest of the images I am going to use in my magazine.
