Meline Manukyan is a full-time student at Cal-State Northridge and a full-time relationship banker at

Chase. When she is not at school or work, she tries to divide her time between her friends and boyfriend. At the end of her hectic schedule, Meline enjoys going

home and spending whatever is left of her day in her bedroom.

Please Come In.

I decided to incorporate this picture into the slideshow to give us a

perspective of what Meline witnesses every time she walks into her room. The entryway is the first glimpse we get into her private space. We only

get to see what she chooses to show. Moving forward, we will be digging

deeper into her room.

The BedHere, we have the most

important part of the bedroom. The bed is placed in the center of

the room, kind of like having a spotlight on it. This particular bed for my subject was a gift from her

boyfriend so it is quite special. You can also see the teddy bear that he made for her from Build-

A-Bear for Valentines Day.

A Sneak Peek

I was told that I could only take pictures of part of the

closet because “the inside is too messy,” but that was

enough for me to conclude that she does not have

enough time to clean and organize her room, so she does what anyone in her

situation would do. She hides it in her closet.

You can never have enough mirrors, right?

With two full length mirrors already in the room, there is another

decorative mirror hanging on the wall. Beneath the mirror is a place for, well everything. Jewelry, lotion,

water and even some shopping bags. I spy one shoe missing its

pair. It probably got lost during the hustle and bustle of her morning routine. I do, however, see some comfort shoes so that’s a plus.

The Color Yellow Makes You Happy

I’m sure anyone that likes to design and enjoys decorating has heard that the color yellow is supposed to make you happy. In Meline’s case, it does. She went for a neutral room color with splashes of yellow so she can always have some type of light in the room. I don’t know about you, but I do kind of feel happier.

To See Or Not To See

Curtains are meant to make the room feel a bit more cozy and

private. Mel agrees and adds that having curtains makes you feel like you’re in your own world,

blocked off from everything. Once you open them, you’re letting the world in. Good thing she has all

that yellow in her room to keep it so bright.

Shoes are a Girl’s Best Friend

Compared to the mess in the room, these shoes seem to be in good standing. They look new and I’m going to guess that she really likes

them. They are perched on top of the box they were purchased in and not thrown aside. They are a really nice pair of shoes so I’m hoping

she continues to take great care of them.

Pearls & Perfume

This is a close up photo from our previous picture with the decorative mirror. I just thought that since we

are trying to understand our subject, taking into consideration what she has the most abundance of would

help. It is quite obvious that she has an obsession with smelling good and perfume, but come on who doesn't’t?

I had the chance to smell them all and I’m in heaven.
