Photo Contest 2011 Communication!

Important Dates Dear Colleagues,

As part of its centennial celebration in 2011, IBM Russia/CIS announces and invite you to take part in the All Employee Photo Contest 2011 - "IBM: Essential Spice of Life".

The contest is dedicated to IBM Centennial and will reflect the history of IBM and IBMers' spirit. It is intended to capture unique images of the IBM community and the essence of life in IBM. Subjects can include portraits of you and your colleagues, clients and partners; you with IBM branded materials/products; IBM technology; IBM volunteer activities; life snapshots in IBM offices; best moments in your IBM career, and much more.

Take your time during the winter break to go through your IBM photo archive. Take your camera with you next time you go to business meetings and trips, corporate events and to the office so to catch the exciting moments of IBM life. Your photos will highlight the past century of IBM bringing an exquisite opportunity for your colleagues to see the IBM world through your unique lens.

To get started, please review the following guidelines:

The contest is open to all current IBMers: full-time and part-time employees and contractors. The final date for submitting the photos is January, 14, 2011. To avoid uploading delays, please do not wait until the final days of the contest to enter. Please send your photos for submission via Cattail to RCIS Communications/Russia/IBM@IBMRU The winners will be announced on January 31, 2011. The winners will receive the invitation to the Awarding Ceremony on the day of the announcement. We are looking for images of all kinds.Technical quality, clarity and composition are all important, but so too is a flair for the unexpected and the ability to capture a picture-perfect moment. The photos must express IBM spirit, be aligned with IBM values, and show IBM innovative products/services and, what's the key, its people who made the last 100 years a true success.

December 7, 2010 - January 13, 2011 Action time: go through your IBM photo archive or bring your camera with you to the office, to business trip or to corporate event and make your best photo shoots. January 14, 2011 Deadline for submission: please send your photos via Cattail to RCIS Communications. January 17 - 19, 2011 Technical preparation for voting process. January 20-27, 2011 Voting week: all employees will be invited to w3 to vote for their favorite photos submitted for the IBM Centennial Photo Contest. January 31, 2011 Celebration: Announcement of the winners February 1, 2011 Photo exhibition starts in the Moscow City Business Center office

Switch on your imagination, it could be photos - with IBM symbols/brand elements, - with IBM technologies, - with IBM colleagues, - in IBM offices, - at client meetings, - at IBM events, and so on. We are open to all imagery as long as it is in good taste and reflective of the professional mission and values of IBM. Each participant may submit up to 3 photos. All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared. Photos that have been digitally altered will be disqualified. Acceptable alterations (e.g. in Photoshop) are: adjustments to color, contrast, brightness and sharpness; removal of dust and scratches; cropping; black and white conversions. Not acceptable are photo composites (combination of two or more photos, not of the same scene); the addition, duplication, deletion or moving of objects in the photos; or the use of artistic digital filters and effects. • File type: JPEG • Files resolution should be minimum of 3.1 megapixels and no higher than 1.5 MB • Photo submissions must include the name of the photographer and his/her

Business Unit, the subject matter (e.g. SWG team celebrating the winback over HP) over and the year when the photo was taken.

Please, send your pictures via Cattail only to RCIS Communications/Russia/IBM@IBMRU The Voting week starts on January 20 and lasts till January 27, 2011. All the pictures will be available on w3, where IBMers will be invited to vote. Photographs will be judged on originality, composition, technical quality, overall impact and artistic merit.

There will be 9 Grand Prize winners. 3 photos will be chosen in each nomination: - IBM History: the Matter of Time - Living IBM Values & Enjoying Participation - IBMer I am. IBMer for life. Each winner will receive a unique centennial prize and have their winning photo used for the internal communication matters. Dear colleagues, This is a genuine reminder that you have exactly 1 month, till 14 January 2011, to take part in the All Employee Photo Contest 2011 - "IBM: Essential Spice of Life" - and submit your photos. Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their pictures. To participate in the contest is easy!

1. Find the photos in your photo archive or make new photo shoots that will reflect these categories: - IBM History: the Matter of Time - Living IBM Values & Enjoying Participation - IBMer I am. IBMer for life.

2. Submit up to 3 photos by uploading them to Cattail https://cattail.boulder.ibm.com/cattail/loginand sharing with Yulia Razumova. Please include your name, Business Unit, the subject, the year when the photo was taken (e.g. Ivan_Vasilyev_SWG team celebrating the winback over HP_2010). From January 20 till January 27, 2011, voting will take place. You along with your colleagues from IBM Russia/CIS may vote for your favorite pictures. On January 31, 2011, the winners will be announced.
