Thank you to the parents who have been attending our weekly assembly. The Year 6 leaders are
doing a fantastic job of running the assemblies and the students are becoming more and more
confident about speaking or sharing their work in front of an audience. If you haven’t already joined
us for assembly, please do. Younger siblings are welcome to attend and it provides an opportunity
for them to participate and learn about school prior to them formally starting Kindergarten.
Assembly is held each Wednesday afternoon from 2.30-3.00pm in the Hall.
Thank you to the Carroll Cash Cows who have been serving up delicious lunch meals every second
Wednesday. This week, baked potatoes are on the menu. Please be sure to get your orders in by the
Monday before, so that the Cash Cows can shop for the number of meals needed.
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of 10 Apple iPads for use in the classrooms. iPad technology in
the classroom can be a powerful tool for learning and comprehension. The interactivity it provides
can make for a very engaging experience for students.
The new pick up procedure is working well and is a far safer alternative. Thank you for your
cooperation with this change in routine. We ask that all parents park at the front of the school, as
the side gate is for use by the children who walk or ride bikes home. We chose the side gate so as
to eliminate the need for these students to walk through cars that may reverse out, causing an
injury, or worse.
I am looking for a parent who would be kind enough to commit to reading with two Kindergarten
students every day. This will only take half an hour and would be of enormous benefit to these
students and their reading results. Please see me if you are able to help.
Don’t forget to save the date for the Year 6 Farewell and Disco to be held in the Hall at 6pm on
Wednesday 9th December and the 2015 Presentation and Performance at 9am on Friday the 11th
December.
Have a fantastic week,

Who: All parents, students and their siblings are invited.
What: Disco and Finger Food.
When: Wednesday, 9th December.

All families are asked to bring a plate of finger food for dinner e.g. party pies, quiche and
