This required them to manually keep the screens clean, and did not provide adequate protecon for their wastewater plant. A large amount of accumulated debris was recently deposited in the aeraon basins and presented the City of Hazlehurst a sizable cleaning bill and debris removal fee, to restore their aeraon basins to working order. They asked Cornerstone H2O to help them with an alternave to their bar screen, and in July 2017 the Or-Tec Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen (2.0 mm) was installed. The posive results were immediate. In the first two weeks of operaon, according to Lead Operator Opie Hall, the Micro Bar Screen removed an astounding 3,600 lbs of material that would have otherwise been deposited in the aeraon basin. Their operang costs have been reduced downstream as their equipment, such as aerators, have improved their performance as they are no longer fouled with debris. Now that they are removing such a large amount of screenings, they are currently evaluang compactors and washers. For roughly 15% of the cost of cleaning and restoring their aeraon basin they now have a superior screening system. The Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen has been an overwhelming success at the Hazlehurst WWTP. Plant Specs

Prior to July 2017, the Hazlehurst WWTP relied on a manual bar rack screen (1.25 inch) for its screening ahead of its packaged

treatment plant. This required them to manually keep the screens clean, and did not provide adequate protection for their

wastewater plant. A large amount of accumulated debris was recently deposited in the aeration basins and presented the City of

Hazlehurst a sizable cleaning bill and debris removal fee, to restore their aeration basins to working order. They asked Cornerstone

H2O to help them with an alternative to their bar screen, and in July 2017 the Or-Tec Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen (2.0 mm) was

installed. The positive results were immediate. In the first two weeks of operation, according to Lead Operator Opie Hall, the

Micro Bar Screen removed an astounding 3,600 lbs of material that would have otherwise been deposited in the aeration basin.

Their operating costs have been reduced downstream as their equipment, such as aerators, have improved their performance as

they are no longer fouled with debris. Now that they are removing such a large amount of screenings, they are currently

evaluating compactors and washers. For roughly 15% of the cost of cleaning and restoring their aeration basin they now have a

superior screening system. The Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen has been an overwhelming success at the Hazlehurst WWTP.
