! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !  Phillips News Ladies and gents, we’re so very glad to be starting our email newslet ter. If you’re reading this, then that means you either signed up to receive it, or we just feel that  you’re that special that we’d like to send you updates on what our family is up to.  As you may know, we’ve been back in the states (Pennsylvania to be exact) raising support for our full-time missionary adventure set to begin in early 2011 in the Philippines.  While we were teaching in Korea we had a chance to visit Kids International Ministries  where we fel l in love at o nce. We felt God calling us to be a part of this organization that cares for the needy in very practical  ways, showing them the love of Jesus.  As part of raising support, we’ve been in and out of many different churches, telling about what God has done in our lives and the great adventure that He’s called us to. We’ve met so many wonderful people, and we’ve been  blessed by God’s great provision through these saints. You all have blessed us so much, thank  you!  We have a little over half of the monthly support that we will need pledged to us, but  we’re still about $1000 a month short. If you or any of your family/frien ds would like to support us, please go to  www.phillipsint hepi.com/p/how-t o-support- us.html to learn how. We are also still looking for churches to speak at through the end of January, when we hope to depart for the Philippines. On another note, Micaiah is doing very wel l. She’s almost 7 months old now, and is in the 95 percentile for her height. She’s going to be a beautifully tall girl! She’s been babbling a lot lately, so we’re anxiously  waiting for her to say ‘dada’ and ‘mama.’ She absolutely LOVES jumping in her bounceroo. She’s been having a great time getting to know her grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins while at home in Pe nnsylvania. We know she’s going to be sad when we leave. Right now, everything seems to be a bit normal for us. Russell is working as a Therapeutic Staff Support (fancy word for aide) in the schools, and Jessica is taking care of Micaiah at home. There’s something in us though, that  yearns for the extraordinar y. ! The Phillips Family Forum December 2010 *Just a reminder to our monthly supporters: Please remember to send in your support this month. All support collected before we leave goes into a pool that we  will draw from when we get there. Thank you for  your commitment and faithfulness!

K.I.M. News

In case you haven’t figured it out yet,KIM stands for Kids International Ministries. It’s the organization we’re going to be full-timemissionaries with in the Philippines.

A lot of really cool things

have happenedrecently at thechildren’s homein Manila. Two of our long-timechildren, Michaeland Angel, have

been adopted outto families inNorth Carolina and Florida respectively. This is such a

blessing as they have been at the children’s home for most of their lives, and are going to Christian families

who will love them unconditionally and raisethem in a loving environment.!

Also, I was just on the phone with Jeff Long, the president of Kids InternationalMinistries, and he told me that two new children have just been taken into the Manila children’s home in the last couple weeks. God

surely has a plan for those kids and we can’t wait to show them love.

It’s a little hard being here in theStates to tell youall the happeningsof what’s going on

within KIM in thePhilippines. Wecan’t wait to be

there to give youfirst handaccounts of whatis happening there. Until then,

we’ll just settle with telling a story of what wgot to do while we were there last Christma

Our friend Myles is a Filipina who worclosely with KIM as a travel agent, and whoalso runs a ministry out of her house. See, i

not uncommon toutilize the roof of

 building for a  basketball court,

etc. and that’s ju what Myles does her house. Every

 week, she invitescommunity kids

and families over for a time of ministry andpreaching from the pastor at her church.!

Her vision for giving last Christmas wto raise money to buy 100 bags of groceries 100 families in the nearby community whohad been displaced by Typhoon Ondoy in

September 2009. We just happened to bethere during Christmas, so we helped her ra what she needed, and then we went with her buy the groceries. Also, we were able to wraTONS of clothes, vitamins, etc. and give themall out on Christmas Day.! It was wonderful to see how appreciative the people were of theirgroceries. For most of them, they wouldn’thave been able to have their traditionalChristmas meal of spaghetti without it. Bef

we gave out the gifts, however, Myles’s pastgave a messageabout Christ’s

birth. All in all,it was probably the bestChristmas eitherof us had everexperienced.

And soon we will be able to do that kind of thing daily. We’re thankful that God has placed us in such an

awesome calling!

Merry Christmas and much love,Russell, Jessica, and Micaiah Phillips
