Market: 24+ retail locations in the western United States Challenge: Pharmaca (www.Pharmaca.com) – desired to present on their eCommerce site content from WordPress blogs they maintain, for its SEO advantages as well as for supporting initiatives to better engage shoppers. Results: UniteU developed an integration for WordPress which pulls in blog content, scans it for security purposes then presents it on the eCommerce website as rendered HTML. Case Studies Many retailers and manufacturers write blogs to generate rich content regarding the products that they sell for consumer engagement and to become an authoritative voice within their industry. Blogs are a wonderful opportunity for both their positive SEO impacts and social product recommendations but integrating this social channel properly with an eCommerce site can present retailers with challenges. The most important issue is security; most blogging platforms are not PCI Compliant so the content pulled from them cannot be relied on to be secure. Also, in order for the content coming from a blog to be registered for its SEO advantages on the eCommerce site it must be in HTML delivered by the site itself, and not referenced from an external locations (e.g., via an iframe). Keeping these challenges in mind, UniteU developed a comprehensive integration with WordPress that takes blog content and presents it on Pharmaca’s eCommerce site as rendered HTML for the best possible SEO results. The opposite is also true where articles related to product selections are displayed in appropriate locations so that additional information regarding consumer interest is at their fingertips. The community aspect of a blog is not lost on the eCommerce site. Consumers can comment or ask questions on articles and such comments are pushed back to WordPress for moderation. The approved comments are then pushed back to the eCommerce website.
