PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
School Council
At last night’s School Council meeting we continued our new practice
of increasing student voice and leadership by involving students at
School Council. We welcomed Oscar H and Riley H
to present the Students’ Report. The boys shared
the role of KidsMatter Student Action Team, future
plans and ideas how we can improve our school.
The boys spoke with great confidence and clarity
and responded to questions from the School
Councillors.
The following policies were approved
Yard Duty and Supervision
Home Learning
Health Care Needs
Communication Procedure and Schedule
Fundraising
Incursions
Next week there will be a major upload of policies to our school
website.
It was reported that the school has successfully attained re-
registration with all Child Safe and other compliance items
achieved
School Councillors started generating ideas to improve the learning
and play environment for our students. All parents/carers will be
surveyed for their ideas soon.
Staffing
As we head towards the end of term, we have some staffing changes
we’d like to share with you. Kate Eldred, Tanith Ryan and Jessica Stone
will be commencing maternity leave. We welcome the following
teachers to the following classes:
Sarah Trezise will be teaching Prep E
Cat Gray will be teaching 3/4R with Ms Roberts
Jacqui Castillo will be increasing her time fraction to work in 1/2B
once a week with Mrs Box.
We hope you make them feel welcome.
We wish Mrs Jamieson and Mrs Woods a happy early holiday as they
start their mid winter break early.
Reporting
Next Thursday 27th June, the students’ school reports will be made live to parents/carers and can be
accessed through the Compass website or the Compass app.
Learning Tasks will be attached to the report and are one of many data sources used to inform a
student’s achievement against the Victorian Curriculum. Learning Task achievement ratings don’t
always correlate directly to the progression points as the rating is based on that task alone.
Parent Student Teacher Interviews will take place in Week 2 of Term 3 for most classes. Details and
booking code will be communicated next week. Brett Smith

Vacation use of School Grounds
Whilst we encourage the use of the school grounds out of
hours by families, please understand and respect that
OSHClub operates on weekdays so please observe the
following:
No off lead dogs
Non OSHClub children to keep right away from OSHClub activities
Children use the school grounds with parental supervision.
Respect our school and its facilities.
Kiss and Go
Earlier this term I wrote about our endeavours to have the front of school’ parking designated as a ‘kiss
and drop off’ zone. This would increase traffic flow and allow more students quicker access to the
school….especially in the wet weather.
We are still hoping the kiss and drop off will eventuate but in the meantime we ask that it be used as such
with longer term parking at the Recreation Reserve.
When it happens, we’ll let you know.
Easter Fair Produce We are asking for donations of small jars for the jam making team (Donna). Please remove all labels before
leaving your jars in the foyer. Jars should be no bigger than 300ml. Thanks.
ART NEWS
Our Artist of the Week is Ruby McCartney in grade 5 with her tempera painting. Ruby has used
complementary colours and a mixture of symmetry and asymmetry in her design. The goat appears as the
focal point in the piece with a decorative surround.

the day was a success, we came back to school with no shields but some very muddy legs. A special
thankyou to David Newman, Alan Starkey, Katie Winn, Olivia Peterson and Sammy Jacobson for coaching
our teams on the day, Kerri-Ann Gafa and Ella O’Flynn for umpiring and Rob Van Rooy for attending and
