and Consulting Ltd, an organisation that solely works in the field of

Information Risk Management and provides consultancy services.

We are a friendly school that puts the learner at the heart of all we

do. The School, which celebrates the multicultural background of its

staff and learners and it is easy to reach by public transport.

The School of Information Risk Management (SIRM) is a centre

offering academic qualifications in Cyber Security and Assurance,

Information Risk Management, Computer Forensics and Security

Compliance and Business Management to its students.

We have developed an MSc programme that utilises the ISACA

framework as its basis and produces highly skilled professionals

with both academic and professional qualifications. ISACA, as you

may well be aware, is currently a highly sought qualification within

the field. With only a handful of institutions offering this course, we

are truly unique in our opportunities.

Furthermore, we with our breadth of experience we are able to

provide our students with real grass roots experience via our work

placement programs. Learning is an enriching and enjoyable

Welcome to The School of Information Risk Management (SIRM)

SIRM has adopted the ISACA model curriculum in developing and designing a

Post Graduate Diploma, which is built on good foundation and rigorous practical

training in the respective areas. The aim is to provide necessary knowledge through a

combination of theory and practice.

Students will be offered a ISACA® membership on behalf of SIRM. Students may then

be encouraged to take the following industry specific renowned qualifications:

• Certified Information System Auditor (CISA)

• Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)

• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)

• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

• Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP)

This program is available Full Time at campus and Part Time through Online/Distance Learning.

Progression:

Students can join Anglia Ruskin University for MSc Cyber Security (Top Up) at Dissertation stage to obtain full MSc. • Students are advised to apply well in advance of the course commencement date as courses tend to be full at SIRM. For F/T campus based study, we have four intakes per year, which are:

• Students who wish to study online / distance learning can join a course any time of the

year.

Entry Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in relevant field such as computing / IT from a recognised Institute

• IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (only for International students with no English language background)

• Fee deposit• Interview (for international

students, the interview can be conducted through skype)

If you have received an offer of admission from SIRM, you are expected to confirm your acceptance by way of paying the tuition fee deposit as soon as possible. Admission will not be confirmed if the deposit is not paid.

Letter of Enrolment:Refund of tuition fees:

Once an offer letter has been received and the appropriate deposit has been paid, then students will be issued with a Letter of Enrolment. The balance of fees, after deduction of the deposit can be paid in instalments. The first instalment will be prior to the end of the first semester examinations/assignments and will continue every semester in the same manner. Please note that the college may not offer payments through instalments.

SIRM’s refund policy is as below:Fees will be refunded in full, if the student’s application is declined by the school. In the case of overseas students, there will be an administration charge of £250, deducted when this fee refund is paid, if the student is unable to join. Once the student has joined the school, no fee will be refunded under any circumstances.

As part of the application process, the college will conduct interviews with each student. In the first instance, prospective students will be interviewed by a local Marketing Officer (if applicable). The student will then be interviewed separately by a senior academic staff member to ensure their suitability for the course (Interviews will be carried out either in person, over the telephone, with Skype or with other verbal communication methods, where necessary).Please Note: Receipt of application does not automatically guarantee a place on SIRM course. SIRM reserves the right to decline the offer of a place if the candidate does not meet specified requirements at the time of application.

How to apply:

To obtain admission in a degree courses conducted at SIRM, the following documents are required:

• Completed APPLICATION FORM duly signed by the applicant (all sections should be neatly handwritten and the statement of purpose should have a clear explanation as to why you would like to pursue the chosen course at SIRM) clearly indicating your contact number (both landline and mobile) and email address

• Copies of relevant official educational certificates, recent passport size photograph and CV in the case of mature applicants should also be enclosed.

Personal Tutor / Advisor

As SIRM student, you will be allocated a personal tutor/advisor who will monitor your progress and will be there to support you when you need it. Your tutor / advisor can provide you advice on your approaches to assessment, Moodle, career advice and any other issues you may face during your studies with us.

Student Support Officer

SIRM’s student support officers can provide you with confidential and impartial advice on academic and pastoral issues.

They can also advise you on the assessment issues, techniques, time management, finance, career or personal difficulties that you may face, the team works closely with the College’s Counselling service to ensure that you have access to specialist assistance and advice if needed.

Student Hub

The Student Hub is design to be the first port of contact for a face-to-face information, guidance, and advice on the range of course related matters, and other information about the services and your career. Your questions will be answered regarding your finance, support and other activities.

Counselling

The Counselling Service offers you the opportunity to discuss, in confidence, about any personal problems you may have. The Counselling Service also runs different workshops and courses on themes, such as time management, stress management and confidence-building.
