From this manual you will learn how to combine paid services into packages on a dating site built with Dating Pro.
A package is a combination of different paid services. See Payments: Services for more
information.
Go to Payments > Packages > Add package (/admin/packages/index) to create a package:
This is what you will see:
Gid should be unique. Use Latin symbols, numbers and underscore.
Name can be translated into different site languages.
Price will refer to all the services that you include into your package. It can mean a
discounted offer for your site members.
Package activity period is counted in days. After this period is over, members will not be able to use any of the services that are part of the expired package.
Payment type lets you decide on the payment method, whether the site users are going to be able to purchase the package from internal account only, or through direct payment,
or both.
Status - mark the checkbox if you want the package to become visible in the user mode.
Example:
Click 'Save', then click the list icon ( ) to add services to the package.
Now you see the list of all available services in the right column. Drag and drop them to the left column to make them part of the package and indicate the desired quantity:
Do not forget to save the changes.
One service can be a part of several packages simultaneously, with different or similar parameters. This is what your site members will see:
This is how it works:
Your site member can purchase services separately or as part of a package. Once
purchased, a service requires activation, unless the user wishes to activate it immediately during the purchase.
However, with the packages the site members are required to activate the components one
by one after the purchase. It helps people to only use the site services when they need them.
After the user purchases a package, s/he is able to activate services from My account > My services section (/users/account/my_services). Say, we have purchased the 'Gold' package
from example above. We can activate the services from here:
Or we can do it from the site pages that are connected with the services, as in - when we
try to send an email to Clark - we are shown the available options for activation:
Activation of a service is only available during the activity period of the 'container package'.
In the future we plan to further develop this functionality to allow trial periods, dependence upon user type (man, woman), and other features.
