Inially, I was President of PFLAG Dayton in 2007, 2008, and 2009. One of my friends commented they would have to pry the presidency from my cold, dead hands. That wasnt quite true. However, I did and do truly enjoy being Presi- dent of PFLAG Dayton. When I took over in 2007 I was reminded I was the face and the voice of PFLAG Dayton. This was an honor I took to heart. In 2013, I was asked if I would be the chapter President once again. I gladly accepted the posion for the second me. As the face and voice of PFLAG Dayton I have had the privilege of represenng the finest organizaon there is. The op- portunies I have had to speak on behalf of PFLAG Dayton have been too numerous to count. As President of PFLAG Dayton I have had the pleasure of working with many leaders in the Miami Valley Area. My fa- vorite quote is by Horace Mann, Be ashamed to die before you have won some victory for humanity!I have met some exceponal individuals who truly live by this philosophy and believe in giving back to their community. My success as President of PFLAG Dayton is due to the outstanding board I have been privileged to work with. These individuals work very hard every day to enhance the quality of life of members of the LGBT community, their family and friends. The success of any leader is not based his or her acons alone, but those of the team. The PFLAG Dayton team is the best you will find in any business or organizaon. My hearelt thanks go out to all those who have served on the PFLAG Dayton board with me. I couldnt have done it without you! Sept/Oct

As my tenure as President is coming to an end I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who made my presidency the joy it has been. Initially, I was President of PFLAG Dayton in 2007, 2008, and 2009. One of my friends commented “they would have to pry the presidency from my cold, dead hands.” That wasn’t quite true. However, I did and do truly enjoy being Presi-dent of PFLAG Dayton. When I took over in 2007 I was reminded I was the face and the voice of PFLAG Dayton. This was an honor I took to heart. In 2013, I was asked if I would be the chapter President once again. I gladly accepted the position for the second time. As the face and voice of PFLAG Dayton I have had the privilege of representing the finest organization there is. The op-portunities I have had to speak on behalf of PFLAG Dayton have been too numerous to count. As President of PFLAG Dayton I have had the pleasure of working with many leaders in the Miami Valley Area. My fa-vorite quote is by Horace Mann, “Be ashamed to die before you have won some victory for humanity!” I have met some exceptional individuals who truly live by this philosophy and believe in giving back to their community. My success as President of PFLAG Dayton is due to the outstanding board I have been privileged to work with. These individuals work very hard every day to enhance the quality of life of members of the LGBT community, their family and friends. The success of any leader is not based his or her actions alone, but those of the team. The PFLAG Dayton team is the best you will find in any business or organization. My heartfelt thanks go out to all those who have served on the PFLAG Dayton board with me. I couldn’t have done it without you!
