The time has come to show off your Bonnie Cabbage Plant that you have been growing at home. We will be choosing the top cabbage plant from each 3

rd grade

classroom to be entered into the Bonnie Cabbage Plant Contest. Follow the directions below to be considered for the contest. Note: You DO NOT need to bring in your cabbage plant. Harvest and let the family enjoy!

1. Take a digital photo (resolution of 300 dpi at a

minimum of 4 x 6 inches ) of both the child and

the cabbage in the photo. Do not crop out the

child or the cabbage. The file format should be

JPEG. Do not send a printed image or scan of a

printed image.

2. Student must also type a very short summary (5-

7 sentences) of their experience. The summary

should also include the following student

information:

a. Student name

b. Teacher name

c. Address

d. Phone number

e. Email address

f. Cabbage weight (cut off the root ball of

dirt before weighing)

g. Cabbage diameter (from leaf to leaf)

h. Cabbage head circumference (around

the head)

3. Send your digital photo, summary, and

student information to:

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR EXCEPTIONAL YOUNG ARTIST, MICHAEL NORWOOD for winning Gold Medal on his "Cow-Moo Michael" artwork at the 2014 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo School Art Program. The HLS&R Awards Ceremony was held on March 8th at the Reliant Arena. Michael was also chosen to attend the Glassell Junior

School this summer which provides an opportunity for him to expand on his artistic talents by receiving intense, high level instruction. Special thanks to our art teacher, Mrs. Ransdell for inspring our students to enter the Rodeo Art Competition and for attending the awards ceremony with Michael, and Mrs. Hall .
