► is a referent in market in technology, applications and manufacturing of GRE tubes. We have
more than 15 years working with these materials.
Among other uses, the GRE is an ideal material to use for upstream in the oil market. Within the oil market, Petroplastic SA
specializes in the use of GRE for line pipe, tubing, casing products and their respective fittings.
PRODUCTS
PETROLINE® PIPES FOR LINE PIPE
GRE Glass Reinforced Epoxy pipes, for all flow lines. Lightweight and easy to handle and install. Petroline tubes are available
in both 4TPI and 8 TPI (Threads Per Inch). PETROLINE can be easily assembled by hand without special tools or adhesives,
using a simple band wrench.
PETROCASING® PIPES FOR CASING
Petroplastic SA is a global pioneer in the use of GRE Casing. To ensure a successful application with complete safety for its
clients, Petroplastic casing appears as a high quality product, a result of high skilled engineering and of years of experience
offering recognized assistance service. Its 4TPI integral joints offer outstanding strength and fast installation.
PETROTUBING® PIPES FOR TUBING
We have developed the technology and special machinery that allow us, not only to design tubing, but also to manufacture
PetroTubing®. Thanks to our industrial plant in Argentina, now in full production, we are able to supply and install
PetroTubing®.
PETROPLASTIC FITTINGS
We proudly present our line of GRE fittings. All produced with an automatized process. This ensures that the original designswill be accomplished with no errors, generating high-tech quality products and increased volume production.

OUR HISTORY
Petroplastic SA has over 15 years experience working withcomposite materials. Our extensive experience regarding
these materials has placed the company at the
technological forefront as a result of our continual search
for new possibilities and uses, as well as finding efficient
solutions to corrosion problems.
Petroplastic aims to position itself as a top quality GRE
tubular products and fittings supplier, for the petroleum
industry.
Focused on its clients´ needs, Petroplastic created an
infrastructure of operation bases that altogether with the
engineering department have offered immediate solutions
to the requirements of different companies.
As a consequence of this client oriented goal, Petroplastic
planned and concluded some years ago its project of the
construction of its own plant in the Province of Neuquén.
Petroplastic is undergoing a process of constant growth
and expansion not only in Argentina but also into other
countries.
Petroplastic´s Industrial Plant manufactures and delivers
products of the finest quality, under the most severe
controls.
Industrial Plant at Junín de los Andes
Petroplastic has a 4500 sq. meters Industrial Plant at
Junín de los Andes Industrial Park, Province of Neuquén,
Argentina
Petroplastic, under the advice from the School of
Mechanical & Systems Engineering of the University of
Newcastle, commissioned the prestigious INVAP,(an
internationally recognized centre for cutting edge
technology) to help with the design, construction and fine-
tuning of specific equipment for the manufacture of our
products. After a multi-million dollar investment, we now
have a plant which is model in its field consisting of the
most updated machines with digital controls for both
tubes and fittings, driven by highly skilled staff.
Petroplastic has implemented a Quality Control System
that together with our laboratories equipped with the
latest technology, reassures the quality of our products. In these laboratories, Petroplastic examines the quality of
product through all the manufacturing process (from raw
material to final product)
Lab 1: General Quality Control test Laboratory
Lab 2: Burst Test, axial breakage test and combined
traction and pressure test Laboratory
Lab 3: Regression test Laboratory
Petroplastic obtained:
- ISO 9001 Certification and API SpecificationQ1, for the manufacturing of GRE (GlassReinforced Epoxy) tubings and accessories inthe Plant in Junin de los Andes.
Our quality control systems guarantee that our products will have a similar performance or even better than other products in
the market. 100% of the tubes produced in the plant are hydraulically tested to an additional 50% over the work and design
pressure.

General characteristics of the pipes:
• Excellent resistance to corrosion and long service life.
• Superior Flow characteristics.
• Low paraffin’s and solid build-up.
• Installation cost much lower than steel.
• Installation unaffected by weather conditions.
• GRE reduces temperature gain or loss. This maintains
temperature in a more stable condition.
• The tubes weigh about ¼ the weight of steel.
• Fast and reliable installation. API 8 RD EUE Threads and
available in 4 TPI.
• Operational pressures in line pipe, tubing and casing up
to 3500 PSI.
• Exceptional performance against pressures and high
capacity load.
• Temperature resistance climbs up to 82ºC.
• Ground PH and UV rays resistant.

► Uses of GRE:
• Transport lines for oil, gas, water, etc.
• Lines for chemical disposal.
• Injection lines.
• Lines for gathering and gas transportation.
• Lines for minerals in solution and water injection in
mines.
• Lines for recirculation.
• Line for disposal formation waters.
• Lines for chemical transportation.
• Water injection: tubing and casing.
• Production wells: Tubing and casing.
► 4 TPI vs. 8 RD
Brief Comparison between 4TPI and 8 RD EUE in GRE tubes:
The advantages that 4 TPI have over the 8 RD EUE can be summarized in:
More Robust:
It allows not being so careful during manipulation and even though keeps working correctly.
Alignment:
During mounting, it diminishes typical alignment requirements of the 8 RD EUE. This is particularly important indiameters over 4”.
Double Seal:
O-Ring and threads provide a double seal. When the appropriate torque is exerted, contact pressure between threads isgreater than the circulating liquid’s hydrostatic pressure. The O-Rings offer ahigh pressure seal, keeping Teflon and the lubricant grease in the box, and the internal fluids out of thethreads. When the 4TPI is installed correctly, there is no need to have an O-Ring to secure the seal.
More resistant:
As the 4 TPI thread’s root is more than twice the width than that of the 8 RD EUE thread’s root, it is less probable thatthreads could be damaged when they hit each other during mounting. This is particularly important when used in wells, where the tubes’ weight rest on the threads before engagement. In line pipe applications where both the diameter and unit weight are considerably large, 4 TPI eliminate cross threadingproblems in larger diameters.
No thrust blocks required:
Threads are strong enough to resist extreme efforts during high pressures, with no need to add thrust blocks to supportthem.

Installation and recovery:
Much easier. It reduces cross threading in line pipe and discards in its use as tubing.
Greater pitch diameter:
The interior diameter of the tubes is controlled by the mandrel’s diameter. The maximum available wall thickness is
determined by the thread’s root diameter. In all cases the pitch diameter is greater in 4 TPI products than in those ofequivalent diameter in 8 RD EUE products. Consequently in high pressure applications, the interior diameter isgreater in Petroplastic tubes than those in other products in the market, this results in an increased flow capacity.
Shallow pitch angle:
To compensate for the fast advance of 4 threads per inch, the pitch angle in Petroplastic threads is reduced comparedto 8 RD threads. This enables the installer to afghan contact pressure between threads at torque levels comparableto 8 RD threads. With a shallow pitch angle it is easier to maintain tight matching tolerances between the male andfemale thread in manufacturing.
One-piece construction:
Petroplastic joints have an all-in-one piece construction which results in increased resistance. Threads are not bondedas those from other manufacturers.
