Substation enclosure● Foundation

The substation enclosure consists of a reinforced concrete foundationwith transformer oil sump. The medium voltage cables are led in throughHauff HD 125 glands, and the low voltage cables through an open slot.

● SuperstructureThe foundation supports a hot dip galvanised frame structure, the doorframes and the section walls. The side walls consist of concrete slabs andare bolted to the frame.

● RoofThe roof consists of a single concrete slab. As an alternative, a thermallyinsulated GRP or aluminium double skin roof with granulate filling canbe used.

● DoorsThe doors consist of an aluminium sandwich structure with thermal insu-lation and neoprene seals. The fittings and fastening screws are in stain-less steel. Each door has a central lock for profile barrels, a three pointbar fastening system and an automatic stop.

● VentilationThe ventilation components are designed as doors, and consist of a sheetsteel frame with anodised aluminium vanes and insect guards. The hingesin stainless steel can be operated from the medium voltage room.

Medium voltage switchgearSF6-insulated ring main units (RMU) up to 24 kV with switch disconnectorsor circuit breakers are used.

TransformerOil-immersed transformers in hermetic design to DIN 42500 are used asstandard. Other oil-immersed or cast resin transformers can however alsobe installed, subject to their maximum capacity and dimensions.

Low voltage distributionThe low voltage unit is specially designed for service in packaged substati-ons. It is a type tested, open distribution board, and is mounted on the sec-tion wall of the LV room. Switch disconnectors or compact circuit-breakersand fuse switches are used as the switching devices.

Substation enclosure● Foundation

The substation enclosure consists of a reinforced concrete foundationwith transformer oil sump. Hauff HD 125 and 75 glands are providedfor cable entry. In place of the concrete foundation, a hot dip galvanisedsteel base frame for a foundation to be laid locally can also be used.

● SuperstructureThe foundation supports a hot dip galvanised frame structure to whichthe door frames, the section walls and the side walls are fastened. Theside walls consist of 60 mm thick sheet steel sandwich panels with thermal insulation.

● RoofThe roof consists of aluminium sheet with PU foam for thermal insulationand a GRP liner. As an alternative, an aluminium double skin roof withgranulate filling can be used.

● DoorsThe doors consist of an aluminium sandwich structure with thermal insulation and neoprene seals. The fittings and fastening screws are instainless steel. Each door has a central lock for profile barrels, a threepoint bar fastening system and an automatic stop.

● VentilationThe outer walls of the transformer room are designed as ventilationunits. They consist of sectional steel components with insect guards,arranged in a staggered manner with intervals. The ventilation elementscan be unfastened and swung out slightly from the medium voltageroom for inspection and removal of the transformer.

Medium voltage switchgearSF6-insulated ring main units (RMU) or metal-enclosed air-insulated panelsof type ZK 8 for up to 24 kV are used as the medium voltage switchgear.These consist of type tested panels with load-break switches or circuit- breakers and can be installed side by side in any configuration.

TransformerOil-immersed transformers in hermetic design to DIN 42500 are used asstandard. Other oil-immersed or cast resin transformers can however alsobe installed, subject to their maximum capacity and dimensions.

Low voltage distributionThe low voltage unit is either an open distribution board or a metal-enclo-sed, modular switchgear assembly of type NS 1. It consists of individualtype tested panels with a busbar running the length of the assembly.Switch disconnectors or compact circuit-breakers and fuse switches can beused as the switching devices. Metering and monitoring equipment canalso be installed.

Substation enclosure

● StructureThe structure is in reinforced concrete with a cable basement, walls and a roof. The cable basement with transformer oil sump serves as the foundation for the substation. The roof consists of a concrete slab cast ina single piece, with an all round border and rain outlet.

● DoorsThe doors consist of an aluminium sandwich structure with thermal insulation and neoprene seals. The fittings and fastening screws are instainless steel. Each door has a central lock for profile barrels, a threepoint bar fastening system with panic catch and an automatic stop. The door frame is in aluminium and is installed from the inside.

● Double floorThe switchgear rooms are fitted with a hot dip galvanised false floorwhich is covered with screwed down wooden boards in front of the switchgear.

Medium voltage switchgearMetal-enclosed air-insulated panels of type ZK 8 are used as the mediumvoltage switchgear. These consist of individual type tested panels for up to24 kV with load-break switches or circuit-breakers, metering and riserpanels, and can be installed side by side in any configuration.

TransformerOil-immersed transformers in hermetic design to DIN 42500 are used asstandard. Other oil-immersed or cast resin transformers can however alsobe installed, subject to their maximum capacity and dimensions.

Substation enclosure● Base frame

The station enclosure consists of a self-supporting base frame in hot dip galvanised steel girders with an oil sump. The cables are entered frombelow through corresponding openings. A foundation to be laid locally isnecessary for erection and to seal the substation from below.

● SuperstructureThe substation superstructure consists of galvanised steel sections boltedtogether to form a sturdy frame. They are cladded on the outside withpainted steel or aluminium panels in sandwich structure with 60 mmthermal insulation. The aisles in front of the switchgear panels are cover-ed with screwed down wooden boards.

● RoofThe roof consists of insulated double sheet steel panels with GRP coating.It has an all round border in aluminium and a rain outlet.

● DoorsThe doors consist of an aluminium sandwich structure with thermal insu-lation and neoprene seals. The fittings and fastening screws are in stain-less steel. Each door has a central lock for profile barrels, a three pointbar fastening system with panic catch and an automatic stop.
