• Pete Northolk is a paralympian who plays wheel chair tennis. He competes for England in the Olympic games. This is a very skilled sport which requires thought and hard work on and off the court.

HAS HE SET ANY RECORDS FOR ENGLAND?

• In the 2004 Paralympics in Athens Pete Northolt won the first gold medal for Britain in wheel chair tennis .

WHY IS HE MY ROLE MODEL?

Pete Northolt is my role model because:

• He has kept trying ,even though he has a disability with his legs.

• He has become a gold medallist athlete , competing in one of the hardest events in the Paralympics ( wheel chair tennis. )

• As a result he has won 2 gold , 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.

This is what happens when you try hard in life. The honour that this man was given was to hold the Olympic torch!
