What was it?

Today we had a talk with Pete Fraser, his blog link is: http://petesmediablog.blogspot.co.uk/ He spoke to us about our AS Media task, in which we must film an opening. He gave us top tips on how to get the best marks, showed us examples of real opening, as students created openings, which we analysed to see what we should and shouldn’t include in our own openings.

How should you take notes about opening scenes?

Pete told us a method of making notes about opening scenes. This is to ensure when we make our opening the titles look natural for the genre we pick. It involves writing how long each title last, when it happens in the opening scene, and what it is, all written on a time line.

What is Foley?

Pete taught us about Foley in his talk today. This is when you re-record diegetic sounds, that the cast would have heard, and editing them into the scene to outline a specific sound, or to make it easier to hear in the scene to create an atmosphere. For example: Footsteps or the rustling of clothes. https://youtu.be/rpdNPsUnDqU
