Know the weight of your pet to properly administer solutions.

GATHER INFORMATIONDetermine the type of Poison, how much ingested and how

long ago.

Check your pet’s Vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiration,capillary refill time, gum color).

Observe symptoms (difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea,

seizures, bleeding, etc).



REACT

Read the Poison Label, call your Veterinarian or Poison Control and doas instructed:

Dilute or Induce Vomiting



RESCUE BREATHING & CPR

ABCs = AIRWAY, BREATHING, CIRCULATION

Step 1

Look, Listen & Feel for breathing.

Step 2

Pull back chin to open airway.

If no breath…give two slow full breaths into nostrils while holding mouth shut



Step 3

Check PULSE at Femoral Artery

Step 4

If no pulse, begin CHEST COMPRESSIONS

5 – 10 – 15

Quickly transport to the nearest Veterinarian or Animal Emergency Hospital continuing CPR

on the way as much as possible while staying safe yourself.
