For new customers, we generally provide helpwith setting up, data migration, training andtailoring of both Kinetic and eVenture. Thesoftware is highly configurable and much can bedone without the need for additionalprogramming and extra cost. There are standardtools to help with data migration and datacleaning which further help with the process ofsetting up. Typically a small project can take aslittle as one to two weeks to implement, but largerand more complex projects will take longer.

Whether projects are large or small, they will beworked on by a team of specialists lead by aDirector. He or she is responsible forunderstanding the customer’s requirements,making sure that the software has been correctlydelivered and is within budget.

We understand the importance of client budgetsand where possible we will quote a fixed fee forimplementation against project milestones.

Backup & Recovery

nScaled provides comprehensive cloud backupand disaster recovery for all servers andworkloads in the data centre. Unlike tape backup,the nScaled solution makes use of snapshottechnology with incremental differencing toprovide a near continuous backup. Data is firstreplicated to a local mirror device (the nScaledLocal Cloud appliance) residing in the LAN, andthen de-duplicated at 90% efficiency before beingreplicated over WAN links to the local nScaledRemote Cloud data centre.

Data recovery is fast and easy (typically under 15minutes) from any snapshot recovery point onthe nScaled Local Cloud appliance and caninclude individual email messages, files,databases or entire volumes. Data is encryptedduring transmission over the WAN and is alsoimmediately available for recovery in the RemoteCloud. At least three copies of all data exists, intwo separate geographic locations.

Snapshot recovery points provide completehistorical protection. The nScaled Cloud Consolemanages policies and recoveries from bothlocations (local and remote). There is no need forinvestment in offsite facilities as they are includedin the service.

Disaster Recovery

Using the same snapshotting technology used inthe nScaled Backup solution, the disasterrecovery solution goes a step further by makingevery snapshot a complete bootable serverimage. Snapshots contain all OS, application anddata necessary to spin up a failover server.nScaled also automatically handles everythingelse needed to create a failover server, includingVLANs, Active Directory, and IP addressassignment. With nScaled, failovers take just 15minutes and can achieve an RPO of 30 minutes.

When trouble strikes your data center, thenScaled system provides multiple ways torecover depending on the source of failure. Lost,corrupted or deleted data (whether single files,emails or entire folders or databases) can beeasily recovered from the Local Cloud in minutes.This is the most common form of failure andrecovery and is something we help our clientswith every day. This type of recovery is equallyeffective in case of virus attack or otherdeliberate human event.

If an entire server fails (due to hardware orsoftware failure) this can be easily recovered onthe Local Cloud as a replacement virtualmachine. This process takes around 15 minutesto complete, and is initiated using the nScaledCloud Console. Once service has been restored

to users, the new virtual machine can be restoredto a new location or to a physical host during ascheduled maintenance window.

If your data center suffers from catastrophicfailure, all systems can be recovered within thenScaled cloud within hours. Our VMwareenvironment is powerful enough to support yourentire organization, and regular testing isavailable to ensure that systems can be restoredwithin your target recovery times. Recovery takesplace using the nScaled Cloud Console andsmart system design manages IP addressing,networking and other requirements. Once servicehas been restored, replication is reversed for afinal recovery back to the original data center.

Primary Application Hosting

nScaled provides primary application hosting withits Hybrid Cloud infrastructure from its globalnetwork of data centres.
