Product Brochure PESA’s Vidblox HTR is the newest member of the Vidblox signal converter/extender product family. It provides HDMI input and output signal processing capability to compliment the DVI/VGA capability offered by the Vidblox SL and NE models. The Vidblox HTR offer a wide range of capabilities for transport media conversion, format conversion, and media extension in Command & Control (C2), production, Pro-A/V and broadcast applications. Engineered for 3G-SDI high resolution image performance, the PESA Vidblox series offers perfect pixel-for-pixel transmission of HDMI and DVI computer video images up to 1920X1200 - including 1080p/60. Providing the ultimate flexibility, the Vidblox HTR can be user-configured as either a transmitter or receiver through PESA’s intuitive Cattrax user-interface software. It can be used to transport HDMI, DVI-D or display port signals over fiber, coax, or both with the performance characteristics of high definition digital video; based on industry standard SMPTE transports for HD/3G-SDI. Vidblox HTR in TX Mode Operating as a transmitter (TX), the Vidblox converts HDMI video (up to 1920x1200) to SMPTE compliant, broadcast quality SDI video – scalable from standard definition up through 1080p/60 3G/SDI! The Vidblox transmitter can provide up to four individual SDI outputs – two on coax and two on fiber. In transmit mode, Vidblox HTR may be used to convert video from your HDMI devices to a SMPTE-compliant HD/3G/SDI video that may be used for viewing, broadcast, or distributed through a router. The HTR can be gen-locked to your system by either tri-level sync or black burst. Also included on the output transport video is resolution format data which, when connected to an HTR receiver, can properly communicate specific resolutions and format data of the received signal. Vidblox HTR in RX Mode Operating as a receiver (RX) device; Vidblox HTR modules may be used to convert a SMPTE compliant SD, HD or 3G/SDI video into a high resolution HDMI or DVI-D output, at an output resolution up to 1920X1200. Vidblox HTR Audio PESA’s Vidblox HTR also provides audio processing capability for both embedded audio on the HDMI video signal and connections of dual channel analog audio for auxiliary input and local output. In typical operation, audio on the incoming HDMI video would be embedded into the SDI transport stream. If desired, you may choose to embed the local auxiliary audio input source on the SDI output rather than HDMI audio. A local output audio connection allows you to monitor the audio source embedded into the video output signal. VB Link Transport Signal In addition to SMPTE standard formats, Vidblox HTR also provides a software selectable output option called PESA VB Link. VB Link allows pixel accurate transport of input signal resolutions greater than 1080p with no image scaling. With two HTR’s paired together (TX/RX), resolutions up to1920x1200 can be supported when SDI viewing is not required. HTR Series SECURELY Extend/Transport/View HDMI Video

Product Brochure

PESA’s Vidblox HTR is the newest member of the Vidblox signal converter/extender product family.

Secure Mission-Critical Support Provided By Encryption and Critical-Path Redundancy

Secure Video Encryption The Vidblox HTR allows encryption of the SDI output signal from the TX module using a PESA proprietary, secure encryption algorithm. If the HDMI input source is HDCP encrypted, SDI encryption is always automatically enabled by the Vidblox TX module and can not be disabled by the user. The encrypted SDI transport signal is non-viewable, and can only be decrypted by a Vidblox HTR configured as a receiver. Once decrypted, the HDMI output signal from the receiver will, with full integrity, retain HDCP encryption of the originating input source. With a non-HDCP-encrypted HDMI input signal, you may choose whether or not to apply encryption to the SDI output signal.

Fiber and Coax Connectivity The HTR is available with coax-only or both coax and SM/MM fiber connectivity provided by an optional duplex SFP module. By offering both, the HTR opens up a wide range of capabilities for mission-critical redundancy or system-backup requirements.

Control system Setup, control and monitoring of Vidblox HTR modules may be performed using PESA’s available Cattrax software control application running on a host PC. Modules communicate with Cattrax over an Ethernet network, or a single module may be connected directly to the host PC using a USB connection. Once a module is configured, it is not necessary to maintain connection to the host PC or to the Ethernet network for operation.
