PERU PRESENTS SUPERFOOD SENSATIONS AT IMEX AMERICA

On October 18-20, 2016, PromPeru showcased the country of Peru as an all-star culinary destination at IMEX America in Las Vegas. Already known as one of the world’s top travel destinations - having won the World Travel Awards for four consecutive years - PromPeru invited acclaimed nutritionist/dietician and author of “Whole Body Reboot, Manuel Villacorta to present on the four superfoods found in Peru and showcase how the country has transformed into a food mecca. During each session attendees learned more about the nutritional benefits of high-performing traditional Peruvian cuisine, as well as easy recipes to recreate at home. They were also able to indulge in some “Peruvian Superfoods” ice cream, which was served at the end of each presentation.

INKATERRA JOINS VIRTUOSO THANKS TO THE BRAND NEW LUXURY HOTEL INKATERRA HACIENDA URUBAMBA

Inkaterra Hacienda Urubamba. a brand new hotel located in Peru's Sacred Valley, between Cusco and Machu Picchu, is now part of Virtuoso's exclusive portfolio of luxury travel partners, which features more than 1,700 preferred suppliers in 100 different countries. “Carnaval” in Peru takes place throughout February and the city of Lima is one of the best places to enjoy the celebration while also taking part in carnival shows and concerts. The most traditional event is the carnival water war where children and adults alike playing with water all around the city.

Inti Ravmi - the Inca Festival of the Sun - is considered to be the very first pre-Columbian festival. The most important of four annual ceremonies celebrated in Cusco, the festival typically takes place in the Haukaypata or the main plaza of the city in late-June. Traditionally a religious ceremony meant to celebrate the New Year during the winter Solstice in honor of the god Inti, visitors can now enjoy the unique festival and experience the Andean parades, music and dance, colorful costumes and masks, and traditional food. The night during the Solstice is preceded by the biggest celebration in the Plaza de Armas.

Every year during the second week of March, the grape harvest celebration better known as the Festival Internacional de la Vendimia (International Wine Festival), is held in Peru. One of the top attractions in the wine region, the festival features several events dedicated to wine and pisco lovers, including tastings, music and Afro-Peruvian dance.
