Postdoctoral positions are available to participate inongoing studies on the molecular mechanisms involvedin the sequence-specific DNA damage produced bytargeted antitumor antibiotic radicals. Current researchinterest centers around agents that, upon activation to aradical species, attack specific sites in DNA deoxyriboseto generate novel doubIe-stranded lesions. Experimenta-tion will involve elucidation of the detailed chemical andbiochemical mechanisms involved in DNA damage for-mation and repair, the DNA structural requirementsleading to sequence-specific lesions, the relation of theselesions to mutagenesis, and the use of such agents as

bsof unusual DNA structures. A background inbiochemistry or chemistry and/or molecular biolo-
