-Every living being worry about the inevitable death-feeling.

But is there any place on this earth to live in safely and without fear on this

    earth?

    How to overcome fear?

First of all one must know that what we are seeing and enjoying in this wordare ephemeral (temporary) and they disappear from our sight on one day.So we should develop detachment and also less inclination towards them.

We should also realize that which is eternal and truthful is nothing but Godand once we realize this fact, automatically the feeling of this is mineand this is I goes out of our mind and we will be free from fear. Otherwise the fear of cycle goes on and no mental peace to us.

Our role, as long as we live in this world is just like trustee or steward. Moreover, we are ambassadors of God, in this world. Every thing herebelongs to God.

The golden rule is: where there is detachment, there is no fear.Everything moves around depending on attachment and detachment.

    Stress: Understand and manage iteffectively

The severity of the signs and symptoms of the stress are exhibited indifferent ways depending upon the physical and the mental conditions ofthe individuals.

The body reacts and responds to stress in three stages:

    1. First stage or Alarm stage:

During this stage, the body recognizes the cause of the stress and producesthe Adrenaline hormone the hormone of Fight or Flight response. For example, if you happened to come across a snake, either you go awayfrom that place speedily or you kill it.

    2. Second Stage o Resistance stage:

If the stress still continues, our body becomes accustomed to it and tries toadjusts itself to the surroundings and the necessities of the situations.

    3. Third stage or Stage of the End:

In this stage, the body cant withstand the effects of the stress, due to thedysfunction of the organs concerning the control of the stress mechanismand the body unable to discharge even its normal functions.

The usual signs and symptoms exhibited by the excessive stress:

    Problems with remembering abilities.

    Lack of concentration power.

Often getting angry even for small events.

    Inability to take correct decisions.

Finding only faults in all the matters.

    Thoughts of anxiety and tensions.

    Continuous suffering.

    Lack of getting early relaxation.

    Feeling loneliness.

Being in a state of depression or in a discomfort state.

    Feeling nervousness and un-necessary excitement.

Not able to move freely with others.

    Blood pressure is raised.

    Feeling of body-pains.

Either getting loose motions or having constipation.

Pain in the chest and increase in the Heart-beating rate.

Owing to the continuous stress, the resistance power of the body against thediseases is decreased and the common ailments like cold and cough becomechronic and make the person suffer for a pretty long time.

Hence it is highly essential to make the body free from stress from time totime.

    Laziness a disease?

Yawn.I have got to do this. So with great difficulty, I have dragged my feetto my desk, listlessly hunted for paper and pen to write down my thoughtson .ummm.laziness. I am taking the trouble to write on lazinessbecause I believe that a lazy person is the most competent one to write onthe topic. Well, here goes

Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

    Jules Renard

As I start writing, I who had begun with a half-reclining position am nowsitting straight, my writing has become more brisk, my words more legible, and thoughts are running even ahead of my writing. So I have learntsomething even before finishing penning down my thoughts When you feelyou are a bundle of lazy bones, push yourself somehow to start the work athand. The interest, mood and energy to do it will pick up in the course ofthe work.

The reason for laziness is to pop up as a subject? A team of doctors ofImperial College and University College, both in London want to classifyphysical inactivity as a disease. When I read this, I panicked for a moment. It is bad enough that I am lazy, now I may have to bear the stigma of beingdiseased!

Jokes apart, I feel that the doctors are right in their demand. They have putforth that obesity has already been classified as a disease by the World

Health Organisation. And obesity is partially the result of laziness, lazinessto exercise. Money is pumped at treating the symptoms of physicalinactivity at obesity, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease but not at theroot cause, is what the British doctor Richard Weiler has to say.

We all exhibit some signs of sloth everyday- laziness to walk, work, exercise, to do household chores. We prefer to take the car, take theelevator, let the maid do even the simplest of jobs while we lie languorouslyon the couch watching television munching on junk food. If we do this on aregular basis, what is the result? Obesity.

Not that all lazy people are obese. You may be genetically wired to be lean, you may be a poor eater or you may be on a diet to make up for the kilosgained due to your laziness. But dont be under the mistaken assumptionthat you will escape the ill-effects of habitual lethargy. Sooner or later, other lifestyle diseases, aches and pains will crop up which will refuse to go

    away.

When we are dealing with the topic of physical inactivity it will not beamiss to talk about mental inactivity as well. Very often mental lethargymakes us avoid using those little grey cells. For a simple calculation, weneed a calculator. We set reminders on the cell phone to remind us of everylittle thing from birthdays to shopping lists.

Keep in mind that a machine when unused rusts away, likewise our bodiesand brains. So exert yourself physically and mentally to stay healthy.

Well, writing this has been cathartic. Disease or not, no more laziness forme; off I go for a walk.

Steer your thoughts, worry no more

    June 22, 2010 by KrishnaLeave a Comment

We dont function well when we worry. Worry hinders our work and spoilsour health. Being a habitual worrier, I decided to solve my problem andfound for myself; three ways in which I can make my tensions disappear justby steering my thoughts in a particular direction.

    Consider the following examples:

A cell of my body dies, another is born does it make any difference to me?I will not even be aware of this death or for that matter, the birth.

In my lifespan, a second, a minute hardly matters; these are insignificant inthe context of my lifetime.

Similarly, compare ones self to the universe. A person is not significantenough to constitute even a speck of this universe, so huge are itsdimensions. Even if I was no more the next minute, it will go on just thesame.

Where is all this discussion heading? What has all this got to do withworry?

-When you are worried about your job, some work place problem, a familyquarrel, obstinate kids, the thoughts like the above will help you put theseissues in perspective. You will realise that events like these are not of primeimportance. They are trivial, a very tiny part of your life. Happy occasionsand worries, victories and defeats keep occurring in everybodys life. They

are just one of the thousands of things which have already happened or willhappen in the future and should be treated as such.

    - When the worm called worry starts eating into you, make some time toponder over whether the worrisome incident will continue to bother youtomorrow, whether it would make a difference to your life a year from now. Why, ten years hence you may have forgotten this incident and if you doremember you may be having a good laugh over it. I surely have no ideaabout what worried me even five years ago. Deal with the problem at handin the best way possible but dont fret over it.

-I complained that I had no shoes, then I met a man who had no feet. When I am upset over issues with a family member, I try to think of thosepeople who have no families to speak of, orphaned children with no homeand I am thankful that at least I have a family. If you have a problem with acolleague, dont let it ruin your day. Spare a thought for the unemployed desperate for work but unable to find one. Arent you the lucky one? Whenyou worry over the size of your neighbours bungalow knowing very well thatyou cannot afford a bigger house yourself, think of the homeless who havemade the pavements their home. And mind you, dont gloat over thesepeople for them, in spite of their problems may be happier than you.

Instead think over what you can share with them.I have successfully done away with my worrying habit by using any one ofthese ways. Good luck to you too!

12 manners to get respect from others

Sometimes, even educated people behave unnatural way even in triflematters and become cheap in the eyes of others. So to avoid suchembarrassing situations, it is well and good to observe the following 12points and be dignified.

    1. Never read the letters of even your closest relatives, friends, and familymembers like brothers/sisters. If you read their letters, they will treat asperson without manners.
