Flow of the ProjectPool of Applicants• Advertising was done through newspapers, websites and on notice boards in

HNBA branches

• Other suggested methods were radio broadcasting and publishing in all three

languages

• Data collecting and analyzing was done to find suitable applicants from all the

over the country

• Creation of a criteria to evaluate the students’ qualifications

Academic – 50% Sports – 30% Other– 20%

Data Collecting and Analyzing• Focused on storing the details of each applicant efficiently and calculating a total

mark for the qualifications of each applicant

• A software was developed to store data following the below procedures• Requirement gathering and analysis• System design• Implementation• Testing• Deployment• Maintenance Requirement gathering and Analysis

• The selection process was done based on the population of each district

Examination Paper• Entrance examination was conducted to select the best 100 out of 650 applicants

• Topics covered in the aptitude paper

• Topics were shared among members

• Selected most suitable out of a pool of questions

• Prepared a marking scheme

• Selected candidates were notified through letters, emails and SMS

• A map was created and attached to the letter

Conducting the Entrace Examination

• Reserved two examination halls

– Law faculty (capacity: 400)

– KG hall (capacity: 275)

• Invited experinced supervisors and assigned invigilators

• Directions pasted at the university premises

• A first aid kit, water bottles and stand by vehicle for any kind of situation

Marking• Marked according to pre-prepared marking scheme and used for selection process

• Analysis of marks using a bar chart

Selecting and Notifying Candidates• 130 students were selected due to narmal loss of 30% and selected according to the

population of esch district

• Candidates were notified through a letter and a phone call

Inauguration• Held on the 1st of December 2014 at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce

• Video on previous S2O batch

• Registration of attendees

• Photography

• Providing refreshments and distributing workshop schedules

After Evaluation Expiration• Out Bound Training and assisting the lecturers in IT, English workshops

• Final examination

• Closing ceremony at Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management on

23rd of February, 2015
