It's good to create the "personal vision" you have for your life. A compelling vision can help you succeed, be more satisfied with your life, and get the most out of all your relationships and experiences on this earth!

Your personal vision is what you want to be, do, feel, think, own, associate with, and impact by some date in the future.

God’s vision will always extend you beyond your ability and your comfort zone

God’s vision will always require His provision.

If the vision is not big enough to require God, then it probably did not come from God

Never worry about how you will do it. If God gives you the vision, He will release provision

Your role is to:◦ Believe it◦ Receive it in your heart◦ Declare it with your mouth◦ Step out in faith for it with your actions!

“A goal is a practical part of Vision with a

deadline and a plan”

(1st Cor 6:12 NIV) Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything

(1st Cor 6:12 MSG) Just because something is technically legal doesn't mean that it's spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I'd be a slave to my whims

"Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise,

sensible, intelligent people; making the very most of the time—buying up each opportunity—because the days are evil.

Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly

grasping what the will of the Lord is. “Ephesians 5:15-17

A goal is an achievement or accomplishment you set out to obtain. It is something that is just out of reach, but not out of sight

Goal setting is a formal process during which you define targets that you plan to achieve to fulfill your Vision

It has the additional benefit of helping you decide how you want to focus your resources and spend your time

CAUTION - Goal setting sounds easy. But the way you go about setting your goals can make a huge difference to whether or not you achieve them

Page 14: Personal Visioning

Else you are limiting your own potential You are letting others make choices for you You are letting things happen instead of

you making things happen Can help you concentrate your time and

effort Goals can provide motivation, persistence

and desire Can help you establish priorities Goals can provide a roadmap to take you

from where you are to where you want to be – Your Vision

Page 15: Personal Visioning

1. Make sure the goal you are working for is something you really want, not just something that sounds good

2. A goal can not contradict any of your other goals 3. Develop goals in all areas of your life4. Write your goal in the positive affirmations 5. Write your goal out in complete detail 6. By all means, make sure your goal is high

enough 7. This is the most important, write down your

goals

“If you don’t know where you are going, that’s probably where you’ll wind up, no where.”

Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens - Carl Jung

Destiny is no matter of chance but a matter of choice, it is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved - William Bryan

“All good performance starts with clear goals.” - Ken Blanchard The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The

tragedy lies in having no goals to reach - Benjamin Mays The world makes way for the man who knows where he is going -

Ralph Waldo Emerson What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what

you become by achieving your goals - Zig Ziglar The real tragedy of life is not that each of us doesn’t have enough

strengths, it’s that we fail to use the ones we have. Success does not depend upon the brilliance of your plan but upon

the consistency of your actions “Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we

must do.”
