Amazing opportunities

Working in a corporate environment can be very stressful, so many executive assistants are opting for private offices instead.

Making the leap from EA to Personal Assistant is actually quite easy. Many headhunters and recruiters specialize in making placements for high net worth families.

The Celebrity Personal Assistant Network, for example, is the world’s only employment agency that specializes exclusively in placements for such positions.

How to change careers

For candidates interested in working for celebrities and billionaires, it should be known that there are big differences.

For example, executive assistants work exclusively in corporate environments (inside companies with very structured guidelines designed by human resource professionals).

When EA’s become personal assistants, the duties are usually hybrid positions, so they wear a number of hats that range from all things A to Z – which always includes PA duties (i.e. personal errands) for their high-profile boss. In short, some executive assistants are not willing to partake.

The pay and benefits for personal assistant jobs can be fabulous. Many PAs who worked for celebrities have gone on to produce movies and start their own consulting firms. The rewards are certainly there for those who are willing to make the sacrifice.

Another consideration for executive assistants is the hours that must be worked when working as a PA to billionaires and other successful entrepreneurs. It’s not 9 to 5 position; It’s common for personal assistants to work 10-hour days, six days a week.

For the sacrifice, candidates can easily pull in six-figure salaries. For those with at least 10 years of experience and a college degree, $150,000 a year (or more) is not uncommon.
