The Permanent International Commission for the testing of firearms, with reference to the

Convention for the reciprocal recognition of proof marks for small arms and light weapons

and the regulations made in Brussels on 1 July 1969, has the honour to inform the contracting

Parties of the decisions taken at XXXIV plenary session held on 17 and 18 October 2018 in

Lyon.

XXXIV–26 Table IV

Decision pursuant to Article 5 (1) of the regulation.

Add the following sentence in the TDCC at the bottom of Table IV:

If the dimensions of Table IV of the TDCC, developed for revolvers, are used for rifles or pistols, the data sheet with the inscription "(carb) " of the corresponding size shall be used as the basis for the dimension control.

Amendment of the name of Table III of the TDCC

The title of Table III: 'Magnum cap cartridges' is to be replaced by « Cartouches à culot renforcé. »

The names in the versions EN and DE are :

6.4. Summary of CIP decisions in force (XXI-29)

The Standing International Commission has taken useful decisions within the framework of the aims set out in article 1 of the Convention.

In order to facilitate the work of the delegations and the Permanent Bureau, the C.I P. decided to draw up a booklet - a grey book - grouping by subject all the decisions which are in force and adding the information and recommendations voted on.

The C.I P. requests the Permanent Bureau to keep the ‘Grey Book’ up-to-date as and when new Decisions or amendments to existing Decisions are introduced.

The list (see Table of contents) lists all the Decisions in force and indicates for each Decision the old classification and the chapter of the new ‘Grey Book’.

The booklet - Grey book-will be available in digital format "pdf", on the BOBP website, in the module "Livre gris" and will be accessible only to C.I.P. members.

In the event of a conflict between the new summary document and the successive Decisions of Plenary Sessions, the latter shall prevail.

Protocol for the exchange of information between the C. I. P. and the SAAMI on the introduction of a new and/or revised size

A. from the C. I. P. to the SAAMI

1. Upon receipt by the chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee of the request for the introduction of a new or revised calibre by one of the CIP Proof Houses, the chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee will send an e-mail to the Director Technical Affairs and Technical Advisor of SAAMI. This e-mail will cover the following three points:

a. The denomination of the calibre and alternative markings

b. The applicant's Proof House and country

c. The defined level of Pmax

2. The chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee will check the proposed cartridge and

chamber size table (TDCC). When the TDCC is ready in draft C. I. P. (see example in Appendix 1), it will be sent by e-mail to the SAAMI Director Technical Affairs and Technical Advisor.

3. The SAAMI Director Technical Affairs and Technical Advisor will have the

opportunity to send remarks or comments to the chairman of the Technical Sub- Committee of the C.I P. These will be discussed at the meeting of the Technical Sub- Committee where the proposal for a Decision will be presented.

B. From the SAAMI to the C. I. P.

1. The chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee will receive from the SAAMI Director Technical Affairs and Technical Advisor the SAAMI draft of the new or revised calibre (see example in Annex 2).

2. The chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee will send the proposal to the Heads of Delegation and Proof House directors for comments and remarks.

3. If the proposal concerns a new calibre, the chairman of the Technical Sub- Committee will ask the Proof House Directors whether they intend to introduce this calibre. In the affirmative, the test Proof House concerned shall follow the procedure laid down by the C. I. P.

4. If the proposal concerns a calibre that has already been revised and exists within the C. I P., the Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee will analyse the proposal and, in the affirmative, will propose it as a Decision at the next meeting of the Technical Sub- Committee.

Décision XXXIV-30 Presidency of C.I.P.

Decisions taken pursuant to article 5 (1) of the regulation.

Proposal for a Presidency Decision

For the purposes of article 2 (1) of the rules of Procedure of the International Commission for Proof, the state in the territory of which the next session of the Commission will be held is defined by the following order of the list of Contracting States:-

Hungary Republic of Finland Federal Republic of Germany Kingdom of Spain Italian Republic Russian Federation Czech Republic Slovak Republic Republic of Austria United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Kingdom of Belgium Republic of Chile French Republic State of the United Arab Emirates

This order may be changed if two contracting states agree to change their Presidencies. The states concerned shall bring this decision to the attention of the other Contracting States through the chairman of the C.I. P. not later than one year before the beginning of the First Presidency concerned.

This Decision shall apply from the session starting in 2020.
