Overall Twitter data from October 1st through October 23rd. 2012 PRESIDENTIAL DEBATES # 3 OBAMA ROMNEY We tuned in to the final Presidential debate, did you? Each candidate increased participation through the first two debates but during debate #3, Romney's Twitter participation grew while Obama's participation declined. Check out the numbers from October 22, 2012. Despite a momentum shift and strong gains by Romney, Obama's overall Twitter participation was higher. Therefore, we declare Obama the Presidential Debates Twitter Toss-up winner! October Twitter trends show retweets and @mentions were actually more prominent the day after each presidential debate! After the final debate, Romney retweets jumped significantly, while Obama retweets were on par with prior performance.
