The Perfect Pitch is more like the Best Ice-Breaker.


What you want is to get that person talking to you and remember you somehow


You’ve got 30-60 seconds to WOW them.Every encounter needs to have IMPACT.


Sometimes you need to know what’s in it for them. Everyone always wants or needs something. Convince them YOU HAVE IT!!! What’s unique about you???Your goal is to have the person you’re pitching want to seek you out (now or at a later time)

You bump into someone at the airport that you met at a previous job fair. You exchange pleasantries…then he asks you what you’ve been up to…what do you say???This person happens to be Head of the Clinical Program of the Residency site you’re applying for. Let’s have some fun!

You are trying to get an intern position with a company and notice at this event that there’s an exhibit booth here for that company and there’s 2 representatives standing near the booth. How do you approach them? What do you say? I can tell you what most people do.


Breaking it down

• Write it out!!!!• Make it versatile• Leave out technical jargon…no need for big words

here. Get to the point• KISS…you only have a few seconds.• Practice in front of a mirror.

• After you have it all together, read it out loud and time yourself.

• It should be between 20-30 sec. You don’t want to risk losing their interest or monopolizing the conversation. And you will lose them!!!
