Assiniboine Community College (Assiniboine) has campuses throughout Manitoba, which is a province in the center of Canada. With a population of approximately 50,000 people, Brandon is the second largest city in the province. The college is a publicly funded institution accredited under the College’s Act of Manitoba since 1969. Assiniboine offers over 40 diploma, certificate and post diploma programs across a variety of disciplines including culinary arts, hospitality, business, agriculture, environment, health and human services, trades and technology, as well as English language classes for academic purposes. Many of the programs are also available through distance education. Assiniboine students are nationally recognized for their academic achievements and leadership qualities.

ACADEMIC PURPOSES ABOUT THE PATHWAY PROGRAM

The English for Academic Purposes program prepares learners with English language training, academic preparation and cultural orientation.

The program terms are 14 weeks in length. Students are required to have a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent to be admitted. You may need to enroll in more than one term to achieve an IELTS score of 6.5, which is the acceptance requirement for most Assiniboine programs.
