PEPPERMINT WHOOPIE PIES• Peppermint whoopie pies, oh

my! Peppermint whoopie pies are amazing, and so easy to make.

• We love giving away peppermint whoopie pies as neighbor gifts since they are so delicious and easy.

• Tis the season for all things peppermint!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED• 2 Boxes Devil’s Food Cake

• 1 1/2 cup Butter Crisco

• 4 Eggs

• 1 Cup Chocolate Chips

• Candy Canes, crushed

• 2 Sticks Salted Butter (room temperature)

• 3 Cups Powdered Sugar

• 2 Tablespoons Milk or Heavy Whipping Cream

• 2 Teaspoons Vanilla

• 1/2 Teaspoon Peppermint Extract

• 1-2 Teaspoons Red Food Coloring

• Tiered Serving Set

• Snowflake Treat Boxes

• Snowflake Napkins

COOKIE DIRECTIONS• Preheat oven to 375 degrees

• Mix together cake mixes, eggs, and Crisco

• Add in chocolate chips

• Roll in balls and place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Press down lightly on each ball to flatten it a bit.

• Bake about 8 minutes. Let cool completely.

FROSTING DIRECTIONS

• Mix butter and powdered sugar until creamy.

• Add in vanilla, food coloring and peppermint extract.

• Add in cream or milk. Beat for two minutes until creamy and smooth.

• Add frosting in between two cookies. Press done just a bit and roll the sides in crushed candy canes.
