Ways to Help in the Community

In April Rock Springers sent more than 60 cards to members and friends through our card ministry and knittedcrocheted more than seven prayer shawls as part of our handmade ministry These visible symbols of compassion comfort and support for one another are uplifting signs in this time We always welcome others to these ministries contact Jean Webb for the card ministry and Peggy Greenwood or Janelle Swensson for the handmade ministry

The Social Action and Mission (SAM) Board voted at our May meeting to grant AFAC and Arlington Thrive $10000 each These organizations provide emergency food and rental assistance in our community Need has risen dramatically for both organizations Arlington Thrive has given out about $100000 per week in rental assistance for the past several weeks and they anticipate the need staying at this level as we move into June
