Challenge: NASA’s Oxygen Generating Assembly electrolyzers water but has difficulty with the gas/liquid separation in zero gravity leading to system failures. Solution: Giner delivered a simplified vapor feed electrolyzer system that delivers both the H2 and O2 at sub-saturated conditions. Leading to a 30x savings in mass.

NASA: Extravehicular Activities
Challenge: NASA needs to take cabin air and isolate and compress O2 to 250 bar for astronaut space suits. Solution: Giner engineered an electrochemical O2 pump that delivered gases at pressure and demonstrated > 5000 hours of operation.
