PEFC Chain of Custody Auditor Program - Training Recognition Program

3
PEFC Chain of Custody Training Program Training Recognition Program for Certification Bodies Description PEFC seeks to ensure and further improve the quality of on the ground audits for chain of custody certification. As part of its overall system integrity program PEFC requires that by July 2014 all chain of custody auditors participate in a biannual training either organized or recognized by PEFC. PEFC appreciates the effort put in by the certification bodies (CBs) in further developing the competencies of their auditors and supports the effective and efficient internal training activities of the CBs. Therefore, PEFC offers a “Training Recognition Program” (TRP) which allows the CBs to get a formal recognition of their internal PEFC chain of custody training program and to carry out internal trainings in compliance with PEFC‘s formal requirements. The PEFC recognition of CB internal trainings is valid for two years. In this period the TRP comprises three elements: A two days in person training for representatives of CBs and the training program assessment at the beginning of the period and short (max. 2 – 4 hours) web/phone conferences after 6, 12 and 18 months. The in person training will be conducted in a group with max. 15 participants. The same group also participates in the web/phone conferences. Objectives To provide an efficient mode of training auditors To support quality of PEFC chain of custody audits on a broad level To enable CBs operating with several auditors to come in compliance with PEFC’s requirements for CBs operating chain of custody audits (PEFC ST 2003:2012, clause 5.2.2) To provide recent clarifications and interpretations of PEFC’s Chain of Custody Standard To focus on import requirements of PEFC’s Chain of Custody Standard (e.g. DDS) Target Group Certification bodies conducting PEFC Chain of Custody audits and subject to mandatory PEFC Auditor Training (see PEFC ST 2003:2012) by an internal training program. Product Managers, Lead Auditors, PEFC Chain of Custody Program Manager of CBs conducting PEFC Chain of Custody Audits.
