Historical Fiction stories are not real however use historical information and facts within them. It is important to not only understand historical events and time periods of the past, but also the history unfolding around us now. As readers, it is important to explore a variety of genres in order to find what interests them and continue to build strong reading foundations. It is also important to understand the world around you. For this project, while we continue to read a variety of books independently, we will focus on Informational Text. Your Task: Over the next few weeks, Students will be asked to find an article, using one of the resources listed. Students will read the article and complete the questions in order to ensure understanding. Questions should be answered in complete and detailed sentences. Once the questions are completed, students will create an informative brochure/ pamphlet based on their article using the information on their worksheets, other interesting facts, and a brief reflection. Students should add color and make the pamphlet eye catching for peers to read. ** If you have any questions or are unsure if an article is appropriate or from a credible source please see your ELA teacher.** In your pamphlet, be sure to include : Article Name, Source, WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, HOW, Interesting facts, your reflection.
