Peak Performance provides comprehensive technology solutions to insurance companies, MGA’s, and brokers. These solutions support front end policy administration, back office processing, accounting, underwriting, billing, claims, document management, reinsurance, online payment processing, workflow management and a host of web services.

  

Envision Technology offers a full risk management system for all lines of business including disability management and workers compensation. The solutions offered include claims management, online reporting, coverage confirmation, incident tracking, financial management, payments, data analysis dashboard, and comprehensive reports package.

Client make up includes self-insured employers, TPA’s, MCO’s, municipalities, brokers, and states. Many of these clients include Fortune 500 companies.

Eifer Technologies acquired in November 2007 is mainly comprised of former Fiserv of India staff. The company supports policy administration systems, rating/quoting, claims, finance and other insurance specific software.

The company is based in New Delhi, India. The company’s staff are experienced in insurance IT software with most Eifer resources having over five years experience in a wide variety of platforms specifically Microsoft, IBM, Oracle.

Mojungle  

Mojungle offers cellular telephone technology supporting communications between social network companies, B2B users and others. The technology is state of the art utilized today by some of the largest social network companies.

The Mojungle technology is integrated with Peak’s insurance solutions with plans underway to expand to include a financial services offering for under served banking markets.

IBM made the decision to reorganize their Information Management Division a couple of years ago.

For years IBM was predominantly focused on DB2 as their flagship product, yet the market clearly showed that there is no one answer that works for everyone. Over 79% of businesses use two or more different types of data server for their needs. The days of one type of server meeting all of a business’s needs are long past.

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)  

The concept of an SOA is to make all of the different “pieces” not only work together seamlessly, but also to do it in a way that makes it transparent to the end user. One application can have tie-ins to multiple sources of information. In this day and age companies are moving to an SOA approach not only out of necessity, but also because it makes sense.

IBM recognized this and reviewed all of their different product lines and developed a short list that they will continue to develop and enhance certain products. The U2 products were clearly two of the choices.

Universe for the Future  

IBM has refocused their attention on the U2 products. A few years ago they realized that Universe and Unidata are not only viable, but have continued to grow despite very little attention on IBM’s part. Since then they’ve spent, and continue to spend, considerable time, resources and money making UniVerse a database that can be fully utilized in Web Development.

IBM made a decision to replace their current platform for the TSS Strategic Call Management (SCM) system they use for support. They did scalability tests on UniVerse. The goal was to demonstrate that Universe could offer reasonable performance on a table of over 1 terabyte in size with over a billion rows. It also entailed making sure that a load of 10,000 users didn’t cause performance issues.

Universe passed both tests. In fact, there were no significant issues with a load of over 15,000 users.

Web Services  

UniVerse has the ability to call Web Services. UniVerse can be called as a Web Service as well. Simply put, this means that it can be exposed to the web for both obtaining and returning data easily and in a reusable manner. This is extremely important in an SOA environment.

Connection Pooling  

It is very “expensive” to open and close database connections. Universe allows for sharing connections transparently on the system level. This improves performance and scalability. It also reduces the consumption of server resources.

Flexible and Extended Basic Programming Language

  

Universe Basic is a flexible language that allows for complex application development in a reasonable timeframe. It also has extensions for easy access (Sockets, CALLHTTP, XML, SOAP, Encryption and SSL). This meshes very well with the SOA methodology.
