1. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 43” Fabric B strip to each side of the 32 ½” x 43” Fabric A panel. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 36 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A panel. Trim the block to measure 35 ½” x 45 ½” to make the Center Block (Fig. 1).
2. Sew (1) together (1) 6 ¼” Fabric F triangle and (1) 6 ¼” Fabric D triangle. Sew (1) 5 ⅞” Fabric C triangle to the long side of the newly sewn triangle to make (1) Unit 1 square (Fig. 2). Trim the unit to measure 5 ½” square. Repeat to make (4) Unit 1 squares total.
3. Repeat Step 2 and refer to Figures 3-9 for fabric identification, placement and orientation to make (4) Unit 2 squares, (4) Unit 3 squares, (4) Unit 4 squares, (3) Unit 5 squares, (3) Unit 6 squares, (3) Unit 7 squares and (3) Unit 8 squares.
4. Sew together (1) 6 ¼” Fabric F triangle and (1) 6 ¼” Fabric D triangle. Sew together (1) 6 ¼” Fabric D triangle and (1) 6 ¼” Fabric E triangle. Sew the (2) new triangles together along the long side to make (1) Unit 9 square (Fig. 10). The square should measure 5 ½” square.
6. Place (1) 5 ⅞” Fabric C square on top of (1) 5 ⅞” Fabric F square, right sides together. Draw a line across the diagonal of the top square (Fig. 14). Sew ¼” away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 14). Cut the (2) squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (Fig. 15) to make (2) half-square triangles. Trim the half-square triangles to measure 5 ½” square to make (2) Unit 13 squares (Fig. 16). Repeat to make (4) Unit 13 squares total.
Fig. 13
5. Repeat Step 4 and refer to Figures 11-13 for fabric identification, placement and orientation to make (1) Unit 10 square, (1) Unit 11 square and (1) Unit 12 square.

Layering, Quilting and Finishing14. Press the quilt top and 67” x 77” backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste. Quilt as desired and trim excess batting and backing when quilting is complete.
12. Repeat Step 11 to sew (1) 6 ½” x 63” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the block. To miter each corner, fold the Center Block on a diagonal, wrong side together. This should line up the strips from adjacent sides (Fig. 21).
13. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 21), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top.
Fig. 21
Binding15. Cut the ends of the (7) Fabric H binding strips at a 45-degree angle and sew end to end to make (1) continuous piece of binding. Fold in half lengthwise and press wrong sides together.
16. Sew the binding to the front of the quilt, raw edges together. Turn the folded edge to the back, and hand stitch in place.
