Overview

• Build 3a- Delivered on September 30, 2012- Test and deployment to operations at the EN in occurred

in October 2012- Have been running side-by-side with PDS3 system- Deployed and exercised the software at many of the

- Delivered on March 31, 2013- Test and deployment to operations at the EN to occur in

April 2013- Deployment to the Nodes commencing in late April

Build 3a Summary

• Validate software in place supporting validation of PDS4 labels using XML Schema and Schematron files.

• Initial data access and transform software in place for working with PDS4 data.

• Harvest and Registry software in place to support EN and Node registration of PDS3 and PDS4 data.

• Search software in place supporting catalog-level search.

• Report software in place waiting to be populated with web logs.

Build 3b Summary

• Search added support for discovering and viewing Bundle and Collection information.

• Search was modified to address inconsistent results when specifying more than one term or parameter in the search criteria.

• Registry was modified to address performance issues.

• Validate, Harvest, Catalog and Search modified to keep pace with data model changes.

• Updates to the Data Access and Transform tools are about two weeks from being delivered.


Build 3b Planned Deployment


Search Service Status

• Added support for discovering and viewing Bundle and Collection information.- This also includes a first cut at PDS4 Context

products.• Added support for filtering search results

based on space agency and model version.- Will include ESA/PSA data sets officially with this

release.• Still working out the kinks involved with

supporting PDS3 and PDS4 data side-by-side.• Here is what it looks like …


Report Service Status

• Sawmill software installed at the EN.- Upgraded to the latest version from the vendor.

• Working with a few Nodes on interfaces for pulling web logs.

• Ready to start moving forward with population of the service.

• Planned operational phases:- Initiate population of the service and initial report

configuration (April/May 2013).- Generate PDS-wide web log reports. (June 2013)- Generate registry-based reports. (October 2013)


Build 4a and Beyond

• Continue to support data model changes.• Add support for content validation.• Continue to tune the search index.• Add support for product-level search.• Add support for additional transformations.• Add support for visualization.• Better integrate search results with available

tools and services.


Next Steps

• Work with the Nodes on Report Service population.- I promise.

• Work with the Nodes to deploy Build 3b software locally.- Start registering some stuff.

• Continue Build 4a development.- Focus on product-level support including content

validation, search, transformation and visualization.
