CHECK ISOMETRIC

Every Pipe modeled in PDMS needs to be checked for Data Consistency. The inconsistencies need to be corrected.

This can be done by using Data Consistency Checker in Utilities menu or typing ‘CH CE’ in command line.

CHECK ISOMETRIC

After completing the isometric, first check the data consistency by using option ‘CH CE’.

Solve the inconsistencies. Try to solve almost all the inconsistencies. Some queries, however, may remain unsolved like ‘Bad arrive / leave geometry’ of Support ATTA on elbow or ‘SKEY’ is unset. Rest of the queries shall be solved.

CH CE – SOME ERRORS

BAD ARRIVE / LEAVE BORE: It means that the Arrive / Leave point has a mismatching bore. E.g. 1” connected to 2” etc.

BAD ARRIVE / LEAVE CONN. TYPE: means there is a mismatch in the rating of connecting components. Use Q DTXR to check the rating.

CH CE – SOME ERRORS

BAD ARRIVE / LEAVE GEOMETRY: It means the hierarchy is incorrect for the component or the planes of connecting component aren’t orthogonal. This will give incorrect MTO of pipe at times.

BAD ARRIVE GEOMETRY

CH CE – SOME ERRORS

INSULATION CANNOT BE SELECTED: Occurs when either the Temperature selected is wrong for the type of insulation or the temperature of the branch is not set properly.

ARRIVE / LEAVE TUBE LESS: This error comes when the arrive / leave tube is less than the minimum i.e. 100 mm is default. However, if it is less than 10 mm then connect the component again to solve it.

CH CE – SOME ERRORS

SKEY **** NOT KNOWN: It is associated with the catalogue and can be ignored sometimes. Inform Cats & Specs guy for it.

HEAD / TAIL REF. NOT SET: It means that the head / tail of the branch is not connected to another branch’s tail / head. If left unset, the continuation will not appear on the isometric. Ignore if the line is open i.e. open to atmosphere etc.

CH CE – SOME ERRORS

TERMINAL PROBLEM / INCONSISTENT FLOW ACROSS BRANCHES: You have connected Head to Head or Tail to Tail. This comes mostly at Tee or branch connections. Check the flow direction and resolve it correctly.

BAD HEAD / TAIL REFERENCE: This means that the you do not have ‘Write’ access to the element you are connecting to. Contact the database OWNER team.
