Dear Parishioners, You May Be Wondering… Q: This year the 4th Sunday of Advent (December 23rd/24th) comes right before Christmas. Do we have to come to Mass twice? A: Yes. This is on Jesus’ gift list this year. Q: W hen does the w eekend sw itch from the 4 th Sunday of Advent to Christmas? A: The Christm as Masses w ill begin on Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM, so everything after that w ill be fulfilling the Christmas Holy Day of Obligation. Everything before that time will be fulfilling the Sunday Obligation Q: How can we fulfill our Holy Day obligations? A: We have numerous options and combinations. I think this may be all of the possible combinations! 4th Sunday Advent; December 23-24 Christmas Eve/Christmas Day; December 24-25 Saturday 4:30 PM & Sunday 4:30 PM or Sunday 6:00 PM or

Midnight Mass or Monday 10:00 AM Sunday 7:45 AM & Sunday 4:30 PM or Sunday 6:00 PM or

Midnight Mass or Monday 10:00 AM Sunday 9:30 AM & Sunday 4:30 PM or Sunday 6:00 PM or

Midnight Mass or Monday 10:00 AM Sunday 12:10 PM & Sunday 4:30 PM or Sunday 6:00 PM or

Midnight Mass or Monday 10:00 AM

Or you can attend as many of them as you wish. Remember, if you want to attend more than one Mass this weekend, you can receive Communion twice in one day. God bless you and see you next weekend! Fr. Winchel

Saint Joseph’s Catholic School

SJS Students Receive Parvuli Dei Emblem

On November 19, Fr. Winchel presented Charlie Clark, Stephen Leach, and

Cooper Zimmerman, three members of St. Joseph’s Cub Scouts, with their Parvuli

Dei Emblem. Parvuli Dei, which means Children of God, is the religious emblem

for the Catholic Faith that each Cub Scout can earn.

Each of the boys were required to complete an extensive workbook with a wide

range of activities designed to help them discover the presence of God in their

daily lives and develop a good positive self-image through contributions to their

Church and community. They also completed a banner or poster which depicted

what they learned from the activities and assignments. Lastly, each boy had a one

on one interview with Fr. Winchel to discuss the Parvuli Dei workbook and how

the activities made an impact on the boys’ Catholic Faith.

Congratulations to Charlie, Stephen, and Cooper! May God bless you.

tact Matt Cheek [email protected]. For more information about St. Joseph’s
