TNSTRUCTTONS FOR STNGLE SUBJECT (CLASS-X STANDARD)

EXAMINATION IN ODIA & HALF YEARLY LANGUAGE TEST IN ODIA

GENERAL REGULATION AND PURPOSEe- The Sirgle Subject (Class-1Oth standard) Examination & Half Yearly Language

Test in Odia shall be conducted directly by the Board through its Zonal Offices

situated at Cuttack, Bhubaneswar , Balasore, Berhampur , Jeypore, &

Sambalpur.

e- The Board shall conduct Single Subject (Class-1Oth Standard) Examination

separately along with Odia Language Test (CIass-Vll Standard) Examination

through its Zonal Offices twice in a year in the month of May and Novemberwith

effect from the year-2014 onwards.

e' The candidates desire to appear such examinations shall apply directly to the

Secretary, B.S.E., Odisha, through the Deputy Secretary of the Board's Zonal

Office concerned.

e The Single Subject Examination Pass Certificate & Half Yearly Language Test

are separate additiona! qualification to fulfillthe language knowing requirement

of a candidate. Pass mark obtained in Single Subject Examination by a candidate

should not be re-placed with the First Language mark, he/she obtained in his/

her H.S.C. or Secondary(Class-X) passed out Examination .

e The candidates desirous of appearing Single Subject (Class-X Standard)

Examination can appear in Odia language only and not in any other languages.

EI-IGIBILITY $INGLE SUBJECT. CLASS.X STD.I

cF Any person whose mothertongue is a language other than Odia and who has

passed with a language other than Odia in the H.S.C. Examination of B.S.E,

Odisha or an Examination declared Equivalent with that of H.S.C. Examination

by the B.S.E,, Odisha shall be allowed to appear Single Sukiject Odia Examination.

(F Holders of Madhyama orAcharya Certificate of the OdishaAssociation of Sanskrit

Learning and Culture or any other Certificate declared Equivalent there to shal!

be allowed to appear Single Subject Odia Examination.Contd. Page- 2

@' Officers serving under Govt. of Odisha whose mothertongue is otherthan Odia.

(F Others who have passed HSC Examination/ Examination conducted at the end

of Class-Vlt with MIL other than Odia

(F Any other candidate, prosecuting studies in the State of Odisha with MIL other

than Odia.

PASS MARKS TS'NGLE SUBJECT. CIASS.X STD,I

@F Full marks for the Single Subject shall be 100. The Candidates securing less

than 30% marks will be treated as unsuccessfu! candidates.

eF There shall be no award of division or grade for the Single Subject Examination.

Candidates securing 30% or more marks shall be declared as "qualified" only.

PASS MARKS (HALF YEARLY LANGUAGE TEST. CLASS-VII STD,I

(F There wil! be two type of questions. Written test of one hour duration of 40

marks. The question papers shall contain translation from Odia to English - 20

marks and from English to Odia - 20 marks.

Oral examinations :- Reading a Passage - '10 marks, short talks on any

items - 10 marks & Dictation - 10 marks

(F 50% marks in each questions of written and oral examination is to be secured

by the candidate in order to pass language test examination.

DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED BY THE CANDIDATES (SINGLE SUBJECTI(F Two Photo copies of Original H.S.C. or its Equivalent Pass Certificate with self

attestation and ful! Signature of the Candidate with date

e Two Photo copies of Original H.S.C. or its Equivalent Pass Mark-Sheet with self

attestation and full Signature of the Candidate with date.

(F Three copies of recent Passport size Photographs with full Signature of the

Candidate at the front side.

(F One photo copy of any photo ldentity Card such as :- Voter ldentity Card/ Pan

Card/Aadhar Card / College ldentity Card/ Driving Licence with self attestation.

(F The original copies of above noted documents should also be produced before

the Deputy Secretary or Asst. Secretary of concerned Zone for verification of

the photo copies and return at the spot.

e Photo copy of the certificate for verification of the date of birth.

(F Three recent pass port size photographs duly attested by the a gazetted officer.

c- Three self addressed stamped envelopes for correspondence with applicants.

<F Application form shall contain certificate from the employer or Head of the

lnstitution or gazetted officer as the case may be.

VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS AND DEPOSIT OF EXAMINATION FEES(F The Deputy Secretary orAsst. Secretary of the Board's Zonal Office concerned

shall verify the genuineness of Originat Pass Certificates and Mark-sheet of a

particular Board or Organisation (which are declared Equivalent with that of

H.S.C. Examination conducted by the B.S.E. , Odisha) in Design, Logo, Colour

etc. They shall also verify the photo copies of the documents with the Original

documents produced by the Candidate and return the Original copies on the

spot to the Candidate concerned.

(F After verification of documents, if satisfied, the Deputy Secretary or Asst.

Secretary shall allow the candidate to deposit the Examination fees on the body

of the application form, of the concerned candidate.

cF The candidate concerned after being allowed will deposit the fees either by

Cash or through Pay-in-Slip at any branch of State Bank of lndia.

COST OF FORMS & EXAMINATION FEES

<F Cost of Blank Application Form - Rs.100/- (Rupees one hundred) only.

cF For Single Subject, CIass-X Standard,'- Examination Fees without fine will

be Rs.1000/- (Rupees One thousand) only and with fine will be Rs. 12001- (Rupees

one thousand two hundred) only.

@- For Half Yearly Language lesf, Class-Vll Standard,'- Examination Fees

without fine will be Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only and with fine will be

Rs.600/- (Rupees Six hundred) only.

REJECTION OF APPLICATION FORM

(p' The Deputy Secretary of the concerned Zonal Office shalt be competentto reject

thg application form of both examinations with forged documents submitted by

any candidate and keep such rejected application forms in a separate file with

rejection order.(p Deputy Secretary shall be also competent to obtain Verification/ Clarification

report from the issuing authority of the document concerned in respect of the

doubtful Certiticate/ Mark-sheet etc.cp ln the matter of rejection or permission, if any dis-contentment or doubts arise

the matter shall be brought to the notice of the higher authorities of the Board

such as controller of Examination/ Secretary/ President for a final decision .

RULES RELATING TO DISCIPLINE OF CANDIDATES(F Rules relating to discipline of candidates prescribed forthe H.S.C. Examination

of B.S.E, Odisha shall also be applicable forthe Single Subject(Class-X standard)

Examination and Odia Language Test(Class-Vl I standard) Examination.

ISSUANCE OF ADMIT CARD(F Admit cards shall be sent to the respective Centre Superintendents which shall

be collected by the candidates on production of intimation letter issued by the

respective zonal offices of the Board.

CERTIFICATE.a- A certificate shal! be issued to the successful candidates in both examinations

by the Head Office, B.S.E., Odisha, Cuttack.
