1864 Torres (FE17) Torres made three guitars for Francesco Tarrega; the first was an 1864 instrument designated in Romanillos’s catalogue as FE17. It is lavishly ornamented and features most of the decorative motifs used by Torres throughout his career: meander (or Greek key), fine green and white wheat-ear or herringbone, the chequerboard and the lozenge. Materials: top: European spruce back & sides: European curly maple neck: Spanish cedar gears: Rodgers Dimensions scale length: 65.0 cm body length: 46.8 cm body width: 32.8 cm nut width: 52.0 mm Price as shown: $12,500 Options: Although the original was made in maple, this guitar can also be made in Brazilian rosewood.
