SHARE SUCCESS STORIESMs. McCracken

Last trimester my English 10B students read The Tragedy of Julius Caesar. During the unit, students are asked to create either a "Wanted" poster or a "Man of the Year" poster for Caesar based on some readings in a packet. (You might remember as we voted for the best during one of our in-service days.) As a reward, I offered ROAR bucks for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. From the moment I assigned the posters the students were into the assignment! I saw students being creative, getting competitive, and enjoying the assignment. ROAR bucks helped make that assignment more fun for everyone. When it came time to grade, it was much more difficult than I had imagined as the caliber of the work was much higher.

Pam Lambert

My students in Input Tech and Business Computer Applications have the opportunity to receive extra credit at the end of the trimester for perfect daily work habit tickets earned in class, i.e. being on time, bringing materials, staying on task, cleaning up their workstation, etc. There were 17 students in second trimester who did not need the extra credit for their grade that received a total of 93 roar bucks (1 roar buck for every 5 perfect work habit tickets turned in).Mrs. Nebeker

First time ever giving Math EOC in Transitional Math, I was a little apprehensive on how it would go...my students had huge growth from preEOC to post EOC--ROAR bucks were a great way to reward them! They each got 10!

Also, I have a lot of students on behavior plans in my sped classroom throughout the day. Some days are not the best, but then when their tomorrow is great again, the ROAR bucks are really great way to praise them for the appropriate and positive choices--gives more ways to reward them! I love them!
