“PG GROUP – UTTARAKHANDIS FOR UTTARAKHANDIS” was founded in 2005 with the primary objectives of sensitizing our people to the harsh realities of people less

fortunate than themselves, and to motivate and empower them to make a difference to the lives of those in need, by changing their own mindsets of “I Want” to “I

Want to Give”.


About Us: We are a small drop in the Ocean. Each member of the Group contribute as drop

of the Ocean in all our actions. Our objective is to empower our Community, People & State by all means.

A voluntary Non-Profit Registered Trust, which is also online Yahoo Group engaged in the upliftment of less privileged section of Uttarakhand State.

We help in bringing all Uttarakhandis under one single roof, who stay far away from the motherland.

Founded in October 2004 by Shri K. S. Rawat in New Delhi. PG Group is Registered with the Registrar of Delhi. PG Group has been accorded exemption for receiving funds under Section 80-G

of Income Tax. PG Group is having bank account maintained with AXIS BANK, Rajendra Nagar,

New Delhi. We do not have any financial source, all our initiatives are driven by our

members. We value the contribution of our each members.


Our Mission / Aim: To provide a platform to all Uttarakhandis to interact with each other online

where they can share their views, thoughts and help in executing various good initiatives toward the empowerment and upliftment of people and community of Uttarakhand.

To help the less privileged children based on their talent till they become self-supporting individuals.

To help shunned families to live a better life during old days. To help people with dire straits to meet the expenses for medical treatments. To help in the development of Uttarakhandi culture.

GIC PURYADAANGAwareness cum Sponsorship Camps -First Camp (July, 2006)

AWARENESS: First Awareness cum Sponsorship Camp was held at Government

Inter College, Puryadaang, Patty Maniyarsuin (E), District – Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand on 29th July, 2006.

Brief overview of the camp is as follows - A Team of 10 members visited to School for holding the awareness sessions. -- Topics of Awareness Sessions were Education, Career, Health, Information & communication, Social evils, Self

employment, Usages of Natural Resources, Natural calamities etc.SPONSORSHIP 9 (NINE) needy students were identified for scholarship Programme.

Computers to Shishu Mandir, Ghandiyal

Pentium 4 computer was donated by Shri Arun Kavtiyal ji to Shishu Mandir School, Ghandiyal.

Training was also given to the school teachers during our visit to this school in April 2009.

Promised one more Computer in 2010

Another Pentium 4 computer will be donated by Shri K.S. Rawat to this school in 2010.


Merit Certificates & Cash Rewards

PG Group’s “ Shyama Devi Merit Awards 2009” Sponsored by Shri. M. L. Kundaliya, Mumbai

PG Group member, Shri M. L. Kundaliya from Mumbai has taken an initiative to reward the 1st three toppers of 12th & 10th stream of Pokhra Inter College “Under The Banner of PG Group”.

PG Group Team has visited the school & the certificates and cash award was given to the toppers in the school itself on 19th December, 2009.

Toppers are: Vikas Rawat, Narendra & Shivani Joshi (All 12th) & Sudha Bind, Sonali Joshi & Prashant Bisht (All 10th).

Group has spent Rs.21000/- on this motivation exercise/visit


Interaction with Students in Garhwal Hills

PG Group Team : Shri J.S. Bisht & Dr. Juyal (22nd to 26 Oct’2009)

(Schools Covered : Khadrasi, Nainidanda, Dhumakot, Sidhkhal, Adariyakhal, Dabari, Rikhnikhal & Kartiya of Nainidanda, Jahrikhal

& Rikhnikhal Blocks) The interaction took place in class room atmosphere on the role of education in

shaping the future of students and importance of the awareness of the parents, opportunities available after class XII and why students should fix the goals for their future and where they are likely to stand.

A questionnaire for the purpose of parents was also made available which covered various issues including education and rural development.

Visiting team member’s impression was that this type of outside inputs can motivate the students at large.

During Team’s visit, they interacted with students of IX & XII of 8 schools/Inter Colleges.

Team has suggested that similar interaction should be arranged for the students of VI and VIII.


Poor Senior Citizen Sponsorship Programme:

In the Masi Project, PG Group has identified 2 female senior citizens for our Sponsorship Programme. The criteria for identifying them was:

- Shunned individual / parents, who do not have any one to look after them.

- Individual / Parents, who do not have any source of income.

PG Group has released Rs.500/-(Rupees Five Hundred Only) per head per month to these sponsored senior citizens.

Annual effect @ Rs.12000/- (Rupees Twelve Thousand Only) for the year 2009-2010.


Poor Shunned Individual / Family Sponsorship Programme:

In this project, during Lwali School visit (April 2009), PG Group has donated Rs.30,000/- to the 5 Orphan sisters who were at the edge of starvation & the condition of these girls was very pathetic. PGG members have shown the courage to help these poor sisters of our community.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – Shri Manmohan Singh Sajwan & his

wife Vill – Ganga Bhogpur, Yamkeswar

Block

Provided financial support to Shri Manmohan Singh Sajwan for treatment of both – husband & wife. Rs.106200/- (One Lacs Six Thousand & Two Hundred Only) was released to the family in Dec’2009.

PG Group member, Shri Manoj Kukreti has arranged most of the amount for this purpose and had visited to the family on 24th Dec’2009 at their native place in Garhwal and given the cheque issued by the PG Group.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – Master Mohit’s Operation

Master Mohit’s family was badly needed the money for his treatment as Master Mohit was having a big hole in his heart. PG Group members came forward and helped this 2-3 years boy who was new to this world.

PG Group platform has provided financial support to the family of Master Mohit for his operation and donated Rs.23500/- (Twenty Three Thousand & Five Hundred Only).

PG Group member, Shri Anil Gwadi’s work in this regard is much appreciable. Now Master Mohit is doing fine after his treatment/operation & we all at PG Group wish him good luck for his future.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – MR. MANIRAM KALA, MUMBAI

Provided financial support to Mr. Mani Ram Kala of Mumbai for treatment of his kidneys. Rs.10201/-was released to the Hospital directly where Mr. Kala was under going treatment.

Of late, PG Group member, Mr. Jagdish Sajwan from Mumbai further donated Rs.3000/- towards the treatment of Mr. Kala & the same amount/money was routed thru PG Group account.



Help):

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – MASTER DEEPAK, GARHWAL

Provided financial support a cancer patient, Deepak (12 years old).

Funds were raised with the support of the Group members, Delhi Aaj Tak Channel and other prime news channels.

Helped patient’s family to open an account in the name of Deepak, which was operated by the family.

More than Rs.6 Lacs (Rupees Six Lacs) were collected in both the accounts and given to the patient’s family. Unfortunately, Deepak demised on 29/6/2007 at 5:30 PM at AIIMS, New Delhi.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – MASTER ALOK, CHAMOLI GARHWAL

Funds were raised with the support of the Group members. Rs.10,000/- was given to the patient’s family for carrying out

necessary tests. Rs.55,000/- were donated by PG Group directly to All India

Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Total Rs.65,000/- was donated by PG Group in May/June 2009

for this purpose.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – Manmohan Negi / Mrs. Negi- Ghaziabad

Funds were raised with the support of the Group members. Rs.15,000/- was given to the patient’s family for carrying out

necessary tests. More than Rs.55,000/- were donated thru PG Group to this family,

which was badly needed money for the treatment. More than Rs.70,000/- were donated by PG Group members in

Oct/Nov’ 2009 for this purpose. Good news is that Mr. Negi is doing fine BUT he needs medical

attention all the times. PG Group member, Sanjeev Panthri has supported a lot for this cause.

FUND SUPPORT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – Dharam Singh Chauhan & family -- Garhwal

PG Group member, Shri Balbir Singh Rawat from Delhi has supported this family in need when they met an accident when it happened on their way to Delhi and were admitted at Trauma Center in AIIMS.

Subsequently, Rs.11000/- were given to this family for bearing the cost

of the treatment in Aug/Sep’09.

ARRANGED BLOOD FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT – FOR ALL NEEDY PEOPLE

So far PG Group members have donated 23 units of blood to the Uttarakhandis who were admitted in the different hospitals.

Major contribution was from Rajneesh Bahuguna, Anil Gwadi and Himanshu Jakhmola of PG Group!


Joining Hands with Other NGO (Women Shelter):

JOINING HANDS WITH WOMEN SHELTER AT GOPESHWAR: – RUN BY MRS. POONAM RAWAT

PG Group with the help of its Member cum Trustee, Mr. Rajiv Naithani, has joined hands with the above women’s shelter home by way of extending financial support to the initiative.

In this regard, PG Group has sponsored Toiletries expenses for a year amounting Rs.6000/year.

The amount is given to this shelter home every year. The above shelter home is managed and run by Mrs. Poonam

Rawat.

MATRIMONIAL ALLIANCES PG Group Platform helped the members to get their life partners through the

group’s initiatives/website/database. Few of them are – Hemlata Bagri, Rakesh Joshi, Susmita Negi and more…….

PLACEMENT/JOBS IN COMPANIES

PG Group platform has helped more than 62 members/their relatives to get jobs in different companies thru the Group members.

We would like to mention here that PG Group member, Ms. Nutan Pokhriyal (now Barmola) herself has helped more than 15 Uttarakhandis in getting the job.

PG Group is helping Uttarakhandi placement agencies by providing candidates for their requirements.

Family Get-Together at Delhi:

FAMILY GET-TOGETHERS IN NEW DELHI: PG Group organized its FIRST MEGA Family-Get-Together in

Garhwal Bhawan, New Delhi in the year 2005. Second Mega Family Get-together was organized by the PG

Group at the same venue (Garhwal Bhawan) in 2006 where more than 300 people across Delhi and NCR attended the same. In this get-together, PG Group organized cultural Programme followed by UTTARAKHANDI LUNCH.

Third consecutive mega family get-together was organized by the PG Group in the year 2007, where again more than 300 people have attended the Programme.
