About meI came into design pretty late on in my life....although it has always been apart of me. I would sketch portraits, make comic books and doodle designs at the back of class consequently taking on Art as a GCSE. Unfortunately my creativity got put to the back when I headed into the business world concentrating on Sales & Admin, until deciding to do a Photoshop course in 2009 which reawakened the passion and creativity in me. Now designing is at the forefront, I pride myself in creating clean and clear work and user-friendly websites. Photography is my second passion and coupled together with the design element hopefully brings something special to my work as you’ll see in this portfolio.....ENJOY

The IdeaIt all started when I wondered what I’d look like with a tattoo.
After successfully adding a tattoo to my own arm (without the pain and permanent fixture of a real one), I then wondered if it was possible to apply this to everyone else. So I went about creating a website for people who wanted a tattoo but weren’t sure
what design they wanted or where they wanted to place it.I wanted the site to appeal to both males and females
and be as user-friendly as possible.I also designed an order form specifically for the site and a
unique placement app to make it easier for clients to show me where they wanted their tattoo placed.
Is there something like this already on the market?
After doing my research I did find that there were a couple of sites that did a similar thing....
however, the sites either didn’t work correctly or the end results weren’t realistic. As there were only 2 sites I still felt
that there was an opportunity and I could improve on what was out there
So whats next...?I want to take this further, there is scope for
development and I’m currently drawing up plans to redesign the site taking it to HTML.
I want to add in a user gallery for people to add in their own designs and get tattoo artists
onboard too.

Reversed Colours - White on Blue
Last Design Concept
Current Home Page Design
WEBSITE HOME PAGE DESIGN
www.getinkd.com
Original Concept
The Home Page went through quite a few changes to reach its current design. The Original concept had many of the features of the current design - It featured a 3 step guide to keep it simple and a blue gradient that would appeal to all. I did have dragons on the logo which I found to be too overpowering so I removed them. I tried swapping the colours over but somehow the site lost its unique design so I didnt stick with it. The Last Design was almost complete but still felt it was missing something - I added in a footer with the Paypal info, a Flash banner to show before & after shots and highlighted the txt in red to finish it off

WEBSITE ORDER FORM DESIGN
& PLACEMENT APPOriginal Concept
Current Order Form Design - showing placement
Redesigned for single person - menus still need changing
Current Order Form Snippet
www.getinkd.com
The Placement App was the first thing to be developed as I wanted people to be able to “paint on” where they wanted their tattoo. It changed from a duel placement (found this to be too small), to the single person which allowed us to have seperate male and female versions. The menus also changed and ended on a glass design. The Order Form itself was designed to incorporate the colours from the site. I added in the 3 step guide to the page itself for new users.
